Statement:
As a 53 year old white, gay man, I have lived most of my life under the fear and self-loathing created by religion based heterosexism and homophobia. I'm clear now about the source and nature of these lies and am committed to doing my best to see that these same lies don't continue to negatively impact young people today. Sadly, too many lives have been destroyed by the lies and misinformation and I believe the Soulforce Equality Ride can have a tremendous impact on spreading truth about the wholeness and goodness of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people and ending discrimination against and oppression of LGBTQ people. These colleges and universities, and the entire country need to hear the Equality Riders' messages of justice, fairness, respect and love!
