There are many organizations now that seek changes for gays. Naturally I cannot support all the organizations except in spirit. If I can lend financial support, I choose to contribute to Soulforce BECAUSE my personal experience has been that THE PRIMARY reason people say they cannot/will not do anything to accept homosexuality as OK and might do things to discourage it is because they believe that the Bible and therefore God says it is wrong and not what He wants. Soulforce gets to the heart and soul of the “issue”. Laws can change and churches can even stop throwing us out but until people truly know in their heart and spirit that homosexuality is OK with God…and I maintain that they won’t know it unless they want to. How to get them to want to know it is ok is totally completely beyond me.
So, i welcome Dr. Cindi Love and leave that challenge to you.

Congratulations Cindi and Soulforce. Homophobia not only strikes our gay children but our own family and friends. I have heard countless stories of families and churches kicking glbt sons and daughters out. It pains me to think that my son thought I might not love him if he came out. That fear was not from me but from church and society. Today I am proud activist thanks to the training I received with Soulforce. So Rev. Cindi – It’s wonderful to see a person of your background and commitment taking over the leadership of Soulforce because it’s influence is great and effective. I’ve been a part of Soulforce almost since the beginning, and have profited from using the nonviolent training I received from Mel White in my personal relationships as well as in the work I continue to do for eliminating religion based violence. Blessings on you and strength and wisdom for the journey!
