7:00-9:00pm – Intersectional Justice: A Panel Discussion and Networking Event at Portland State University, Smith Memorial Student Union, Room 296 (1825 Southwest Broadway Street)
This event is open to the public.
Come and join the Equality Riders for a panel discussion on intersectional justice hosted by Portland State University’s LGBT Resource Center and Spiritual Life Office. Local community leaders will share their perspectives on intersectionalism, followed by an interactive workshop designed to engage students in living intersectionally in every aspect of their lives. All students welcome!
Thursday, April 26
The Equality Riders Visit George Fox University
This event is not open to the public.
Soulforce Equality Riders will be interacting with students on-campus and providing a study break with refreshments and conversation. The Riders will also share a special luncheon with select faculty and administration members.
1:00-3:00pm – Meet the Riders at Coffee Cottage Cafe (808 East Hancock Street Newberg, OR)
This event is open to all students.
Come and dialogue with the Equality Riders about how to create safe spaces on George Fox University’s campus.
8:00-9:30pm – Building Inclusive Communities at Central Lutheran Church (1820 Northeast 21st Avenue)
This event is open to the public.
How can you be a better ally to lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer members of your community or congregation? How can you get involved in activism right here, in your own city? What are some practical steps your organization can take to be more inclusive of LGBTQ folks? What can you do to create a safer space for all people? Answer these questions and more at this community event!

7:00-9:00pm – By Way of Sorrow: Honor our Lost and Make it Better at Portland Metropolitan Community Church (2400 NE Broadway Street)
This event is open to the public.
A night of poetry, performance, story-sharing and song to honor those who have taken their own lives as a result of bullying or spiritual violence against the LGBTQ community.

The Equality Riders Volunteer in Community Service Project at Growing Gardens

6:00-10:00pm – A Night with the Riders: Screening of Equality U, Meet & Greet, and Art Exhibit Finale at the Sexual Minority Youth Resource Center (2406 NE Sandy Boulevard, Suite 100)
This event is open to the public.
Join us for a night of celebration as we conclude our time in Portland! The night will include a free screening of the Equality U documentary, a time of Q & A with 2012 riders, and a social / dance party to commemorate the finale of our art exhibit. Light refreshments will be provided!
