Eric Dean Karabetsos

The Soulforce Equality Ride is a two month social justice bus tour that confronts political and spiritual oppression of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) people. The ride began in 2006 and has visited hundreds of cities, colleges, universities, and other institutions. The 2012 ride will be the fifth tour. This year a large emphasis is being placed on intersectional justice (or the desire to practice social justice in a way that ends all oppression against all people) and community involvement. The participants of the Equality Ride are provided top notch training, transportation, housing, and food throughout the tour. Support from rider pages like this one helps to make the Soulforce Equality Ride possible. Visit www.equalityride.com to learn more!

Eric Dean Karabetsos

Sechawick, PA

Born May 3, 1985, in the humble little town of Pittsburgh, PA, Eric was raised Mormon for 22 years, before discovering the real truth of the Gospel of Christ for himself in 2006. In 2008, he experienced another real change when he turned Conservative. Now, two years later – Eric have become a full fledged advocate for gay rights after a heart felt conversation with a close friend, who is also an advocate. Ever since, Eric has been looking for opportunities to promote equality, and believes God led him to Soulforce.

In Eric’s Own Words

I want to reach the world with the truth; the true gospel of Jesus Christ. This has been a desire of mine as long as I can remember. I’ve spent more time working to achieve this goal than I have with anything else in my life. Now that I have found this wonderful organization, I will finally see that dream realized. Now is the hour in which this generation will see those who call themselves L,G,B,T or Q gain equality in the eyes of the law, and with their fellow countrymen. I am very proud – and humbled – to help see this goal realized.
