Soulforce Seeks Families to be Featured in the 1000 Watt March, Vigil, and Concert, July 17-21, 2006.

Light bulbAs Soulforce prepares for our action this July at James Dobson's Focus on the Family, we are searching for couples and families that can participate in a "relay" style march beginning at the Colorado State Capitol Building and ending at the entrance to Focus on the Family in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Each couple/family will walk approximately 3 to 4 miles before handing the "baton" to the next family. One family walking after another, we will span the nearly 65 mile distance over the course of the week to symbolize the link between unjust antigay legislation (Colorado State Capitol Building) and the false antigay propaganda that flows from Focus on the Family.

On Saturday, July 22, 2006, we will be joined by a large crowd of people from all over the country. Together, we will walk the final 3 miles and arrive in mass at Focus on the Family just before sunset. We will then surround Focus in a "circle of light" vigil (with glow sticks provided by Soulforce) and enjoy a dynamic concert under the stars featuring Broadway Star Billy Porter (www.billyporter.com)!
