to call home. Just for you, BruceChris, I started this thread!
My Partner and I are buying a house (I think I mentioned this somewhere else) the Closing is on friday! I'm trying to pack things up here, but I'm so slow at that.
here's a pic of the house: http://images1.e-net.com/mls/import/westpenn/property/full/90/606390_1000.jpg
nothing says commitment like a 30 year mortgage!
yes, we will be doing some landscaping.

Looks like a sweet place to call home, keltic63. Is there a basement?

Oh, nice!!!!!!! Looks like you have a really big yard too.
Have fun packing! Heheh! I don't envy you that task one bit, though I hafta say, the good part of it was, I lost over 5 pounds packing and moving into our house. It's great exercise.

there is a basement, but it isn't original to the house. it looks like it there was a crawl space first, then the basement was completed later. the ceiling is a little low down there.

corner lot that is 50x100. moving will also give me the chance to get rid of some things.
hey Jamie! thanks for the "multi-quote" feature.

1300-1500 sq ft. I think. it's 4 bedrooms. it was originally a duplex. while some of the remodelling leaves a little to be desired as far as taste is concerned, it is tolerable. we can move right in and make the changes slowly and thoughtfully.

I so enjoy hearing about your new home! As a new homeowner myself, I never get tired of hearing about houses. :D
Congratulations again and again. Sounds like the perfect size for 2, plus guest rooms for when your kids come over, guests, etc.
What kinda remodelling?

Sounds like a pretty nice place... and in many ways it's good to have to add to it, clean it up... because you can do things the way you like them... and you don't get stuck with someone else's taste.
1300-1500 sq ft. Sounds small to me now... but it's a nice size... 4 bedrooms will be really nice... like Zerbie said, then there's room for you kids when they come to stay... that will be nice...
were you and your partner living together before? or will this be a new thing?

It is wonderful to know that I have found the person I want to spend the rest of my life with.
We spent most of the day apart yesterday. Scott went to work, I stayed home and packed. When he got home, we talked briefly, then he took off to care for his kids and run errands, etc. I left for a meeting at church before he got back home. When I finally got home, around 9:30, he was packing some things for the move. We spent about 30 in the same room before he headed to bed. But I felt so much love for him the entire day! it was ok that we were spending time apart, it was enough to be with him for those few moments. I finally crawled into bed at midnight and snuggled up close. it was one of those days when everything was as it should be!

Congratulations Keltic! It is wonderful that you and hubby are finally buying a home together. You are right, nothing says committment like a 30 year mortgage! I hope you two are happy and will make it the home you have always wanted.
My wife and I recently decided to get rid of the stuff I brought from my first marriage and the stuff she brought from her parents, and we got stuff that WE like together. The only stuff we kept was antiques my grandma gave to me when she died and a china cabinet her great aunt had. It is refreshing to get stuff that is uniquely a blend of our personalities and what we like. I hope it will be fun for both of you.

Yea yea yea!!!! Totally!!!!! What makes our home "Home" with a capital H is that it's both of ours - we chose it together, set up the furniture and decor together, and it's filled with OUR stuff. Combined. It has a kind of signature that reflects both of us, who we are, how we mesh, and all the sides of our personality. Guests sometimes comment it's the only house the know where the living room has curios full of Svarovsky crystals AND a shelf full of stuffed animals! :D :p
Anyway, like PNG says, this is a wonderful venture Keltic, for both of you to really make your home life together and fully *yours.*

I'm not quite sure what I've done to deserve the honor. Was it because I was saying that y'er all a bunch of KandyKanes for not starting more threads? Well, whatever it takes. Maybe you can name the garden after Jennifer, she seems to be your biggest fan today.
And congrats to you and your hubby now that you have found a place for the two of you. Maybe you can upload some photos of the interior, once you begin to fix it up.

So, ya figgered out what makes me tick, eh? :p Yeah, my voice rises 2 octaves at the sight of bunnies. . .:D :good:
I haven't counted the bunnies specifically, but I'm guessing they're about a third of the total menagerie. We currently share a house with 129 plush animals. Hubby had about 60 or 70 of his own when we met, mostly kitties. If we don't stop buying plush, we will need a larger house for them. It seems they are multiplying like. . . heheh. . .rabbits. :p

Zerbie... I have a hard time believing that bunnies are only a third... and what about the kitties... there most be a lot of those as well then

Now that you have a place of your own, you can finally engage in all of those Gay * lifestyle * behaviors. (Like decorating, furnishing, remodeling, setting up a proper kitchen, cooking, having guests over, and all of those other things that get so many uninformed people upset)
Peace and Love, BruceChris

Maybe, too, I am happy because it fuels my dreams of someday having a house. It's a relief to see other people accomplishing what you'd like to do because it makes it feel like your goals are more attainable.
