Patricia. I live in Northwest Indiana, close enough to Chicago to have gotten hit by that early big snowfall! I am 43 years old, and married with no kids. We have two cats, a dog, an aquarium full of fish, and I am an avid birder, feeding as many as 50 birds at a time at my feeders!

I am the co-chair of my church's Welcoming Congregation Committee, which works to improve the lives of the GLBT community through acceptance, support, and social action, among other things.

I come here as a non-Christian (I am a Pagan in the local Unitarian Universalist congregation), and hope that is acceptable. I am also a vegetarian, a "domestic goddess" ;) and an animal lover.

I hope to gain insight in these forums as to how I, as an outsider, can better assist the GLBT community in their struggles.

Welcome Patricia,
being a member of a UCC congregation, we view all religions as equally valid and equally sacred. Personally, I consider myself a ChristoPagan who honors the Divine by its many names. I see Krishna, Apollo, and Jesus, etc. as different aspects of God/Divine.

Bright Blessings & Peace,
Sol Invictus

Welcome, Patricia! My husband and I love animals too, but with our lifestyles/schedule we don't dare adopt any because we can't give them enough care and attention. So we have about 75 plush animals (each one has a name and personality)!!!!!

Of course you're welcome here! This forum is for all those who care, want to learn more, want to help. . .I too hesitated about whether I belong here, because I am not Christian, but I just decided that I DO belong here. I think that's all it takes. I've looked for others who want to address the spiritual roots of homophobia all my life, so am glad to find everyone here. I'm glad you've joined us and look forward to more of your posts.

Welcome aboard!

Zerbie:)
