Well friends I you may have noticed I have virtually been missing from the forums lately. I have been in Oklahoma at my grandparents house for a few weeks and needless to say they only have dial up, so it takes an act of God to even check my email. I leave for Berkeley on the 16th. I will arrive on the 20th to move in to the dorms, and school starts on the 4th of Sept.

Just wanted to give you an update. Sorry if I have been delinquent on my moderator duties! When I have high speed again you will see me more.

Grace and Peace . . .

Yes, I too just got out of school, a few months ago, for the 4th or 5th time. Welcome to the club. :agree:

Good luck in your move and starting school Corey. I know you'll love Berkeley. The Berkeley marina is one of my favorite birding spots, and there is a nice little shop/snack shack right off the freeway on the way to/from the marina. And of course my favorite city will be so close (SF)! :D

So dial-up is your reason for not being around...

It will be great to have you around more again!

You start the 4th?....isn't the 4th Labor Day?... I would think they would wait until the 5th? I know that's when school starts for part of our school (poor younger kids go back the 29th of this month)

Anyway, did you have a good time getting to visit with your grandparents?

Be safe... and of course let us know what you think of Berkeley!

Hello all! I just spent the night in Gallup, NM now I'm on my way to the Grand Canyon and will spend the night in Sedona, AZ. I hope to find a "spiritual vortex" or two while I'm there. I'll keep you posted!

Watch out for those vortex's. I hope you don't end up in a parallel universe or something!

Seriously. You are in for the ride of your life in school. "The Best is Yet to Come." (Tony Bennet) :sing:

I love, love, love Sedona. OMG!!! It is one of the most beautiful places on earth. I love Flagstaff, Phoenix (much too hot, though), and Tucson. Arizona is just a gorgeous place to live. You are so lucky.

Well friends tonight I am writing from San Simeon, CA. It is a small town on the central coast of the state. I left Sedona, AZ this morning. It is a nice place, but a bit to tourist driven for me. I went vortex hunting, but all I found was a bunch of red rocks. O well. The Grand Canyon is amazing.

Tomorrow I arrive in SF! I move in on Sunday!

The Grand Canyon is one of the most amazing places on earth!! Glad you were able to see it in person Corey!

I've done a backpack trip down to the river and back - it's at least as amazing close up as on the top looking down!:D

I thought you'd like the area...

The link is to a great coffee shop 'Brewed Awakening' it's just 2 blocks from you and if I recall you'll have a wireless connection there...
http://www.shopinberkeley.com/b/brewedawakening/...hope you can find it... I think they have a map on the page...
*also good mexican food... 'La Burrita'... also on Euclid

I'm guessing you ended up with a pretty small room? you have your dog with you right? when do classes start for you?
Do they still have a MCC church on the campus?

we lived were 2380 Virginia St. and for my sister and I the campus was our playground... we were close enough that we could kind of wonder around where ever we wanted...

I think it is kinda cool for you, Jen, that Corey is there now, walking on the same paths that you did when you lived there. Seems almost complete, in a way. Corey, I am so glad that you made it. Go forth and conquer, and enjoy your new surroundings. I am sure you will be great at whatever you do. See ya around, Peace and love, Vanessa
