I am a big Star Trek fan, having seen all ten movies and most of the five different TV series. In fact last year when they canceled Star Trek Enterprise, I was more than a little disappointed.
So when I surveyed the Internet news this morning, I was quite surprised to see an article titled "Star Trek" Actor George Takei Comes Out. It seems the show that featured the first-ever interracial kiss on network television (between Captain Kirk and Lieutenant Uhura in 1968) also had a gay man as a star.

George Takei and his partner have been together for 18 years.
