that said,I got a lot to say about the gay movement in this country, I'am gay, when we rise up, too the people: and say, WE ARE HERE! GAY, we are playing into hands of the extreme right wing, Barry Goldwater, John Birch society, republicans or consertive democrats. Many of you do not remember, or where not born yet. There is an evil in this country. I am an old, guy yet I remember. The time is comming when you will have too draw a line in the sand, and say this is mine.

Hmmm. . .I'm probably in the not-old-enough-to-remember category. What evil are you talking about?

I think we know the line, at least I do. Maybe we haven't defined the 23% of authoritarian mentality as specifically evil yet?

Haven't read the book you mention, though I think I know what you mean: the title alone is revealing. I guess I have trouble with saying the thinking of a group of people is evil. That kind of labeling seems to be in keeping with the whole 'love the sinner and hate the sin' thing that is leveled at gay persons. One could also go further and say "Love the evil ones and hate the evil" right? A step towards extreme polarization in my view. With two sides so diametrically opposed, the only thing left would be mutual annihilation. The perspective that neo-conservatives are misguided or uninformed leaves a lot more room, don't you think? That said, like Zerbie, I'm not exactly sure what the line in the sand is!

Charles: Did I not pick the perfect time to log on last night. I may be the only conservative on here, so your post was very interesting! I asure you that I have a heart and I look out for my fellow man. I also will never take offense at what someone else says about us. Just like all GLBTs are not the same, all us conservatives are not the same.
No, I am not upset at your comments. If I was upset I could always invite you to go quail hunting with me. :p I spent twenty years in the US Army defending your right to say what you want. Just do not think that we are all the same.

PS: I forgot to welcome you. I am Charles also. I think that you and I are going to have some fun on here! CC
