Hello, my name is Ted a 51 y.o. veteran and parent of gay son. Am active as board member of PFLAG , ENC equality North Carolina, and HRC human rights. Will be glad to support / demonstrate in Greensboro against the unjust policy- don't ask don't tell. This is wrong. Let us know dates times etc.

Welcome, Ted!

Thanks for being so bold about loving your gay son.

I think www.righttoserve.org will have the info you seek.

Peace,
Nate

It is always nice to have straight allies, like PFLAG people. Did you know that most of the people who are not that much in touch with gay people, and not all that accepting of gay people actually believe that straight people are a better source of information about gay people than the gay people themselves??

It's a nutty world that we live in, but we can always use your help.

Peace and Love, BruceChris

Howdy Ted and welcome!! Great to have you here. And yeah, thank you.

PFLAG does a tremendous lotta good. Thanks for being involved.

BruceChris is right: people tend to believe what straight people say about gays more than what gay people themselves say. I've always found that weird.

Welcome, Ted. And I agree that the don't ask - don't tell policy has got to change.
I grew up in the Marines, served in the Army, and married a chaplain in the Navy (he's a disabled vet now), and it has always bothered us both.

Zerbie - you're right! It is weird. Kinda like asking an elephant how to fly

Welcome Ted! Glad you're here! We need more people like you around here, there aren't enough straight people out there saying we support gay rights... Thank you!:)

Just wondering how'd you find us?

For being an ally, for coming here and publicly stating your support, but most importantly, for standing up for and loving and supporting your son. So many persons here speak of the strained, if any, relationships with their own families as a result of their coming out about their sexual orientation. It is a relief to know that some parents can embrace their child, still, and let that child of theirs be whom they are meant to be. God bless you, and I hope to see you around often. Peace be with you, Vanessa:pray:
