Just read online that the amendment is adversley affecting heterosexual couples who are not married & finally legal action may be taken to abolish or "trim" the law. However, the article did suggest it may go all the way to the Surpreme Court... Interesting...

Yep. The amendment was written and passed without foresight regarding all the possible repercussions of the amendment. WHY on earth would anyone oppose issuing an abused woman a restraining order against her abuser? It infuriates me that those behind the amendment actually WANT people to be assaulted like that - and it reveals that gays are not their only targetting group. These amendments have nothing to do with protecting anyone, they are obviously assaults.

Well I am glad that a judge has spelled out the real truth behind the Ohio amendment, and now it goes on to further challenges. I hope the higher courts throw the amendment out! This could potentially be VERY good news for us here in Arizona, since the one we vote on in 2006 has almost the EXACT same wording. Strike 'em down!

Yes, I'm glad the courts and people are finally starting to realize that prejudice & discrimination in laws does not produce justice and social equality. I will definitely keep everyone updated & good luck in Arizona!

It's true the dicrimination issue is being addressed a lot more now... people are starting to realize that we have a problem that is long over-due to be fixed.
