...."fundamentals of Christian faith as symbolic statements or myths not meant to be taken literally"....
That is the only statement that Newcombe fellow said that I agree with.
Though the quote was taken out of context, but hey, people like him do it all the time with Bible.

Your right Bruce, This guy is a total Nutjob:eek:

And it is a bit over the edge. Anyone have any thoughts as to when I should take it down?

I think it does have something to do with equal rights. As long as these people continue to 'blame' past and current world events and catastrophes on groups of people and their opinions, they will fuel the fire against equal rights. When the majority of humans finally see that the things that appear to make us different: characteristics, traits, and the like actually bring us together more than emphasize our differences, their fears will be put aside and perhaps we will gain even more ground towards a truly free and equal world.

It's important to bring awareness of what's going on in the world that might impede our progress, in order for us to better prepare for the next battle. Thanks for the link!! ;)

As soon as we’re certain that they’re “saved” (from themselves), then you can take it down.. :D

Maybe our tactic is all wrong here - instead of defending and fighting for equality, we just need to do a switcheroo and go out into our world and save those who feel they are saved and we are lost. We know it's really the other way around...

We could make tracts, pamphlets, place speakers on busy street corners and hand them a microphone, get on message boards and beg them to come to their senses and accept the truth, etc. etc. etc....

I am familliar with D. James Kennedy. He is of that PCA ilk I wandered into as a teenage christian. He has also written a book entitled, "What if Christ Were Never Born" or something like that. It is a masterpiece of historical revisionism which morphs all the founding fathers of America into born-again christians and attributes the notion of separation of church & state to communism.

Let's call this stuff what it is, folks: PROPAGANDA. And as propaganda it has a motive force of power & control.

Quite a bit different than Jesus (or Gandhi, or King, or Buddha, or even Thomas Paine...)
