Gay and lesbian lifestyle is a major threat to their ingrained belief that they MUST populate the earth in order to give bodies to all the spirit babies born on the planet KOLOB. (I think that is the name of the planet they believe in. Forgive my lack of Mormon theology) If two guys got together or two women, without a lot of outside intervention, they can't of course, have children, and that just can't happen in a Mormon family. I believe, I read somewhere that if in a man/woman marriage, if one can't produce children, they can divorce the other. Having babies is essential to Mormonism. So, it doesn't surprise me that Gordon Hinckley doesn't support gay/lesbian marriage. Their whole belief system would crumble. :rolleyes:
