In addition to being surrounded by lawyers, somebody in Westboro Baptist Church must be somewhat computer savy to produce this little video and their many websites.

I did some research on Phelps and his church back in 2003 when Soulforce put out a booklet comparing side-by-side his rhetoric with the wording in Southern Baptist resolutions on homosexuality. I even got a copy of the Fred Phelps's approved documentary Hatemongers (www.fredthemovie.com (http://www.fredthemovie.com/)), in which Fred and his daughters come off as strangely charming while saying the most horrible things. Which is much different than how they normally portray themselves when doing media interviews.

In one scene in Hatemongers, Fred is putting together a sign much like a kid in Vacation Bible School. He's gluing construction paper and adding the stick and all that. You can't see the sign and he's just talking about how he is making a really good sign to proclaim the good news and all. There is some happy music playing. And then he announces he is finished, says what a great sign, and promptly turns it around for the viewer to see in huge letters DIE DYKE NUNS! or something like that.

Yeah. If Osama, or anyone w/ brownish skin & a beard says shit like that, the terror level goes up a notch. He kinda has those Osama eyes.

Pure poison either way though.

Nancy Manahan, a junior college professor nearby (I used to know her), wrote a very sensitive and insightful book called "Lesbian Nuns". She has infinitely more class than Phred Phelps.

I believe that the Bible says that we should make a joyful noise unto the lord, and SoDoMy friends. But clearly, gloom and doom Fred doesn't. (O.K., a little lacking in class, there.)

P&L, but NO BS, Bruce Chris
