My name is Hank. I have been a fan of Soulforce and contributer for some time now. Sooo.... I thought it was about time I posted a thing or two.

I live in Denver and am looking forward to the elections this year... I'm no fan of Dr. Dobson and although I still love my brother, he has become very distant since becoming a member of a conservative church and involved with focus on the family. :(

I try not to become angry at God because of something some religion or church does.

I am also quite fascinated by contacts I've made worldwide: this includes a dear friend who is a gay student in Tehran. I will write more of this later, but let me just say: "if you think we have problems Here". Unfortunately, he could not access the Soulforce page with his antiproxy software (software used to get around Iran's filtering system). Anyway, I'll talk more on that later...

Aside from all this, I enjoy the outdoors, fishing, travel and of course my international friends. :)

Hank

Howdy Hank! Welcome! :)

Glad you finally posted.

Yeah, I hear ya. Ya hafta separate God from people. People aren't God, and they don't (or at least, 99% of the time they don't) speak for Him either.

Best wishes with your family. Sometimes even the biggest rifts begin to heal with time.

Good wishes.

Z

Hi Hank, a warm welcome to you!!

Yeah, people don't always speak for God even when they claim to do so. I have family members like your brother - close ones and it hurts. But keep on prayin' for them and holding out hope that they will eventually see the light. ;)

Welcome, Hank.

I used to live in Laramie, which isn't Denver of course. But I'd imagine that there are some similarities between the two cities. :)
