Ooh! Deets, please Keltic! What's the Dobson rally about? Marriage? Something else? What slogans did you end up using? And let us know how it goes, k?!

Proud of ya, Keltic.

gonna answer it over here, Zerbie, so as to keep the other thread on topic.

The Dobson rally is being called "Stand for the Family -rallies designed to educate and motivate pro-family conservative Christians in three states where there are important races on November's ballot." So, obviously it's political, but you can guess who is going to be blamed for the perfectly terrible things that are happening.....

I've got a few signs ready:
I may be Gay, but I'm straight with God!
If God didn't make Homosexuals, there wouldn't be any!
4 out of 5 Divorced Christians think gays should stop undermining the sanctity of marriage.

I've also printed a few pages of the "False Focus on my family" to highlight in case I should be able to get into a discussion with anyone attending the rally.

My partner is going with me. A gay cousin is riding along with us.

Good for you Keltic!!!!!!!! :D

Another question for ya: WHICH 3 states are they holdnig rallies in? I ask because my state is probably a contender for important ballot races. How did you find out about their rally? T'would be informative to know if they are also rallying in my 'hood.

And of course - Bravo to you for taking a positive and heroic stand.

We're Back!!!!!!

what fun we had! we walked the sidewalks around the arena holding our signs. we stood together near the entrance and sang songs, chanted etc. Nothing Mean or outrageous took place. we really did just make our presence known.
the best part: FoF rented a 17,000 seat arena for this event. approximately 3,000 people showed up! As for our demonstration, PFLAG, and several churches were there to stand for truth and ALL families.

Zerbie, the other locations for this rally are Tennessee, and Minnesota. I'm not sure why in those states, but in PA it's because Casey has a lead over Santorum.

Sounds great Keltic. Please let us know how that goes! When is this going to happen? :weee:

tdogg, it was this evening. it felt great to stand there with my partner and let people know that this is a family too!

Bravi Tutti!

I was imagining being there. It is, after all, the city of my birth. (Well...McKeesport is a stone's throw from Pittsburgh) There is no place like home. And there is nothing so fine as standing up for one's principals.

Encore!

I watched the news reports, but we didn't make it. even Dobson's appearance didn't merit television coverage! here's a newspaper article about the protest: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06264/723745-53.stm

Keltic: I have been so out of touch with the outside world the last few days, I didn't even know that this was happening in PA. THank you so much to you and your partner for attending and participating. It sounds like you made a great showing. Our presence is often what speaks loudest. I am sending hugs to you both- Vanessa

Way to go Keltic - sounds like an awesome evening!!

So the FOF barely got a few seats filled and didn't make the news??! As this continues to be the norm, we are less in the 'bad' spotlight, and pretty soon people forget that we are supposed to be evil. I truly believe most people do not have issues with GLBTs at large, they are easily swayed to hold up those that are vocal, but it seems that more and more they are falling by the wayside. Eventually I see a few continuing to be vocal and standing up against us, and they will look more and more ridiculous as time goes on.

Anyway, great job and thanks for sharing. Would have been way cool to be there!
