What did everyone do for Christmas?
Hung out with my girlfriend's family - my first - and enjoyed a rainy Christmas in CA!

Unfortunantly, my car is in the shop, and I didn't have a way to visit the man I'm dating (I'm not sure if we boyfriends, by definition, yet, but we are definitely close to it).
Otherwise, just visited with family, friends, and my church.

I conducted my church’s (http://www.fcclynchburg.org) Christmas service and had brunch with some friends, and of course I spent lots of time with my dog’s and cat!

I spent time with relatives. I ate too much. But I always eat too much when I am with my relatives.

Dh and I spent the day with his family in warm sunny Austin TX, so we sat outside on the back patio and did next to nothin' all day. Then we all went to King Kong at night. It was a pretty decent Christmas!
Sounds like fun... what was the most fun you had?
well, my girlfriend proposed to me, that was definitely fun! :) and the ring was gorgeous!

Sam,
So happy to hear your news. Would love to see the ring!!! Absolutely cool. I love it when couples get married. I love to show the world that true love does happen among us GLBT people. I was not very romantic when I proposed to my wife. We had been in the closet for so long that we didn't know marriage could happen. So I was coming out of Barnes and Noble after having been in the gay/lesbian section, and saw this book called, "Why you should give a damn about gay marriage" and it gave me the idea to propose. So in front of the store, I called my girlfriend and said, "What do you think if we got married?" and she said, "Can we?" and I said, "In Canada, we can" and she said, "Let's do it" so we did. Sept. 11, 2004 in Niagara Falls, Canada overlooking the falls. It was simply breathtaking. We had a Unitarian minister from St. Catherine's officiate and now we have a real license from Canada. It is cool. and really gives us the sense of permanency. Anyway, send us a picture of your ring. And God bless you and give you and your soon to be wife a long, happy life.:D
That's great that you got married in Canada! My girlfriend and I are a little backwards in the marriage department. We got a domestic partnership this past June at Sacramento's Pride and then we got engaged. We do hope to get married officially someday, but there are other things we need to do first - like taking trips around the world. :) Hope you and your wife are enjoying your marital bliss!

First, congratulations on your engagement, Sam!
And to answer the question "What did you do for Christmas?" my boyfriend spent Christmas Day with my Mom, Dad, brother, sister-in-law, and me. We played Apples to Apples, Scene-It?, Trivia-Pursuit DVD, and Atari 2600 Flashback. We also watched Cinderella Man and part of The 40-year Old Virgin, but we took it out half-way because it was the unrated version and we all accused my sister-in-law of giving porn for Christmas. She was embarrased.

jennifer,
Marriage has its moments when it is really great and other times when it seems like you are asking yourself,"what was I thinking?". Anyway, please go travel, have fun being together and enjoy life. It is too short not to. There is a whole world out there that needs to see a happy lesbian couple who have a great relationship (ups and downs). Have fun. Still want to see the ring, though...:)

Sam, that is wonderful news!! Congratulations!! :D
Thanks for all the congratulations! I'm very excited about the engagement as well. I just picked up "The Commitment" by Dan Savage which should be fun reading after my girlfriend's proposal!
Jamie, it sounds like you had a great time with your family and boyfriend! I watched The 40-year-old Virgin recently and it is pretty crude! I liked Into the Blue with Jessica Alba and Paul Walker - very good.

We spent Christmas at Calum's parents and then on Boxing day all the extended family and a load of friends went for a walk in the hills. Marvellous!
When I got engaged I got so stressed with everyone being negative - just little things, comments about "downhill all the way" and balls and chains and so on - but then I asked my Mum what marriage was like and she said "It's great fun!" Really cheered me up.
So Sam, from my Mum (who has been married about 30 years) and from me, who has only been married 14 months - it's great fun! All the best.
