Soul Force has been an interest of mine for some time, but it was honed by the presence of a new student at the Pacific School of Religion who touted the organization in an interview this week.

As the Assistant Regional Minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Northern California - Nevada, I work with seminarians at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA on the Training and Care Committee of the region.

It would be of interest to many of you that this region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is only one of two regions of the denomination that are open and affirming, a fact of which we are very proud and humbled.

Welcome Cliff Cole. I bet that student was either Corey Hidelbaugh or Richard Lindsay.

Here in Lexington we have the Lexington Theological Seminary, which is Disciples of Christ. While there are openly GLBT students who go there and at least one rather outspoken ally professor of Old Testament (go Lisa Davison!), I don't think the seminary as a whole is officially open and affirming yet.
