Hello everyone,
I am an RP(chaplains assistant/bodyguard) in the US Navy and I am also bisexual. Yes Im one of the people who has to hide his private life at work and at home b/c of the dont ask dont tell policy. Its really difficult, but Im trying to manage it; I found this site by seeing GLB people on the news trying to join the service and held a sit in at various recruiting agencies. I just wanted to say that you people have more courage then I and eventually people wont have to hide their true selves in the military.

A word of welcome from the midwest. I"m glad you found your way to us and hope that you'll be a regular contributor to our discussion forums. Though my service in the military was a long time ago (Vietnam era), I have some understanding of the oppression you're under. Please consider me a friend anytime you need to talk. I'd invite you to view my public profile and perhaps link to my homepage (http://360.yahoo.com/AZBear2006), where I'll be blogging about homophobia, including the form of homophobia that is peculiar to the military.

Hey RP! I am new here too! I am an LN in the Navy and know what you mean. I am glad that you found Soulforce and hope that we both benefit from being here.

Hey Littlefoot!
My husband was a Chaplain in the Navy a little over ten years ago. You RP's are the BEST! Welcome, and, like AZBear, I too know the pecularities of military life...I grew up in the Marines, joined the Army, married the Navy, and have been really struggling with my identity for many years. I too am bisexual, and my girlfriend at the time and I (she was in the Navy) were VERY careful. It's easier for women, I think, but it still feels almost like an albatross around your neck.
There are wonderful people here...the best. Welcome!!
