I'm a lesbian removed from my position as a Lutheran pastor for coming out.

Welcome and my condolences. I had such great hope for the ELCA. I'm Roman Catholic and was considering (for a while) the possibility of becoming Lutheran. A good friend of mine one of the first to be ordained extrodinare, has a small church just down the street from my own parish. But after being at two of the ELCA conferences, I recognized that the ELCA wasn't prepared to make the leap to justice. Hope you enjoy the excellent discussions that go on in the forums.

You have our concern and sympathies. This is a crappy thing for a congregation, or denomination that you love and trust to do to you. Or however it happened. There is a comemmorative group, or project that honors people in your position.

Click on Home to see Rebecca's intro.

This is a project that displays liturgical stoles that have been donated, some by defrocked clergy, some by those who are still in the closet, and some by clergy who simply wish to stand up with us. And Rebecca is a wonderful person. She used to be the minister at the UCC church that I attend.

Hey, I know a lesbian couple who have a black dog, named Joy, no less. See

www.gayintostraightamerica.com

They are two lesbian women, doing outreach to straight America.

I wish I had more to offer you, it must be a real bummer. Maybe send Rebecca an email. She may have more to say to you.

Peace and Love, Bruce Chris
