Are you all familiar with "Hell Houses?" Here's some basic info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hell_house

Here's a "virtual hellhouse" room that focuses on a "gay priest."

Here in Austin, Texas, we've learned there may be several local "Hell Houses" with specific anti-gay scenes.

I believe this is an incredible opportunity to be a visible presence objecting to this atrocious spiritual violence. We are evaluating whether to use this as a full social justice event, using the soulforce principles, etc., or whether it would be more effective to set up a "Deprogramming Camp" or a sidewalk protest next to one of these things.

Any thoughts?

Is anyone else interested in organizing similar efforts?

Nate,

How do we find out who is doing a "Hell House" in our area? I'm in Madison, Wisconsin.

Maybe call your local christian radio station...

Call around to big churches who might have the resources to do an event like this...
