I am currently struggling with issues in my life thats due to how I grew up baptist and how things that happened to me as a child. I would really like to know if there is a gay christian group or anyone that deals with homosexual related issues. I really don't want to go into alot of graphic detail right now because I am afraid that might offend some people. I believe more now than ever I am looking for healing and how to learn how to forgive others as well as myself. So if anyone knows of any resources like this please let me know.

Hello and welcome. :)
Very sorry to hear that bad things happened to you - YES! Healing WILL enable you to get on with life feeling MUCH happier and coping much better when things go badly. I've dealt with many terrible issues myself, and after years of working on it, things are so much better I hardly believe it. I am SO much happier. So Yes Yes Yes! Get into therapy or counselling and start dealing with those bad things. You can learn to leave the bad stuff behind you and be happy in the present.
Make sure that whatever therapist/counselor you find is worthy of your trust. Gut instinct goes a long way there - if you have a bad feeling in your gut about a certain counselor, don't go back. Find someone you feel safe with.
Now I know there are Christian-based support groups of all kinds, but I don't know what they are or how to find them. I am certain some of the other members DO know, and will be here to post recommendations very soon. Meanwhile, try a google search on something like "gay Christian support" plus your city name, and see what you can find.
Wishing you the best.

I am sure that there must be some resources in Lexington, but I'm not familiar with the area. There is ALL KINDS of stuff online. You could start by Googling Gay and Christian, or Christian and Gay.

Hey, Scotty, as you can see, I can get really carried away posting links. And, you can stick around here, and meet a LOT of wonderful people. But It really helps to find friends in person, too. Is there a PFLAG within driving distance?
Come back and post, and visit us now and then.
Peace and Love, Bruce Chris

I got this T-shirt at Pride that says that I am an Honorary Lesbian. I got it from the Dykes on Bikes. On the back it says that if anyone should dispute this, they (the DOB's) will run over them with their Harleys.  Can't do much better than that.

Welcome to the forums. You are definitely among friends here. We are a close knit group and try to help out each other in whatever way we can. Healing from past hurts can only help us to live fuller lives. As my bottom quote says, we need to stand in our full truth to live our lives fully. Full truth means speaking about things that have hurt us, or that we have done to hurt others. It gives us a feeling of forgiveness, release, and HOPE above all I think. Hope for a better future. Give yourself the gift of exploring what you need to so you can move on in your life. Peace be with you, and please, come back often.  Vanessa
