I am a member of MCC Austin and look forward to reading the posts on this site. I just got finished reading Mel White's Book, "Religion Gone Bad" and I'm pretty fired up. I have not been one to be an activist, however, after reading that book, I need to get involved somehow.
I'm so grateful for all of you that are on the front lines and all the conflict you have faced in order for me to be able to walk down the streets and hold my wife's hand. Thank you thank you.
Many blessings to you,
amy

We have a lot of different activists here. There is at least one discussion thread on Mel's book here,

and a lot of people to talk to. I was just at a conferance called "Voices United", that focused on getting mainline churches to accept and reach out to LGBT people.

I got to hear Mel white talk, and he had a LOT to say about how the religious right is trying to take over religion AND politics in this country.

I think that you've come to the right place to meet and talk to people who
feel as you do. Just read through some of our threads and posts, and get to talking with some of our activists.

Welcome, Amy. Even though we all are activists in our own ways, some quieter than others, we have a deep sense of community and love here on these forums. Glad you are coming to share in those moments! Peace be with you, Vanessa:love:
