:)
Well here Iam I finally made it. I'm not too computer literate, there are some things I can do, then there are other things that totally confuse me.
Anyway, I live here in the southeast part of Massachusetts, I'm 51 yrs old,
gay, christian, and living with AIDS (since the mid 80's) . Iam the sole survivor from our AIDS support group from the early 90's. I never thought I would live through the 90's, but here it is 2006 and I'm still here. I guess God still has plans for me here on earth.
I lived most of my life in the city, but last year Mike and I moved here to the country and it's great. Our dogs like it too. I spent about 10 years volunteering with AIDS Service Organizations and The AIDS Quilt, now I just take it easy and do what I like when I want to and at my own pace as I tend to tire out easily. I like having woods in our back yard and I like working with wood. Lately I have been making walking sticks for people at my church. Of course our 2 mutts keep us busy, but its such a joy to have those 2 dogs in our life. I just cannot for the life of me understand how anyone cannot love dogs, (and big, goofy, friendly ones like mine are the best.)
I'm going to close this for now before I end up writing a full length auto- biography. Looking forward to being a part of Soulforce. :)

I am glad you are still around and Aids is such a sad situation because it need not be. You will find support here and love from fellow gay christians peace be to you and your family Mike and the dogs lol. I love animals of all kinds they tend to treat you better than mankind it seems. Blessing from Kat

:D

Hi, glad ta meetcha. I like dogs. I grew up with a big dumb mutt (half Old English sheepdog, and no one knows what the other half was) - I still miss him sometimes. See ya around the boards, I hope.

Hi Kat,
I wanted to send you a little reply to your welcome a few days ago and, well, here Iam, finally. I have never been in your situation as far as a heterosexual marriage so in one sense it is not easy for me to give you advice. I was however, very moved by your story, and I know it must be very difficult especially when there is still love between you and David. I'm sure that when all is said and done that you will still be there for each other (in whatever capacity) even if you live in different parts of the country.
As for me and living with AIDS, well I guess I'm used to it, (not that it's all that pleasant) but life goes on and I'm glad that I'm still around after all these years. Mike and our dogs, well, they are a big help in my staying somewhat healthy, we are a happy family.
By the way before the day is over, let me wish you a "HAPPY BIRTHDAY".
My mother's birthday is also today, but she has a few years on you, today she became an octogenarian. But we are about the same age I turned 51 on December 6.
Keep the faith, I'll keep you and David in my prayers.

Welcome, Kat! I, too am approaching 51. I love your dog comments. I've never been much of a dog lover until 8 months ago when my daughter begged me to bring home this small tiny bundle that was 4 weeks old and found abandoned in a junk yard with her litter mates. I gave in and we have been blessed by Sammy over and over again. She is a sweet mix of chow and german shepard and we love her to death. I hope this weekend finds you and yours well and healthy. God bless!
