Hello all,

Just thought I'd give myself a little introduction. My name is Nick Sweet and I hail from Hudson, NH. I found out about Soulforce through Instinct Magazine and thought it might be a good way to connect with Christian GLBT people from across the US. A little more about me. I am 23 and currently live with my mother and father. I graduated this past spring with my Bachelor's in Theatre Design and currently work as a cashier and part time costume designer for local theatres. I love music. I like anything from the Cheetah Girls to Rebecca St. James to Missy Elliot. I am also a huge lover of fashion. My favorite shows are Project Runway and America's Next Top Model. Other interests include reading, writing, beadwork, singing, and dancing. I look forward to hearing from some of you soon. Feel free to im me at my screen name would love to talk. Thank you and God Bless!

Nick

I just sent you a response about "Dancing with the Stars" on another forum because I hadn't seen your intro yet, and now, here it is!! Sound like you enjoy a lot of fun things, and embrace life. So glad that you are around with us, and come around as often as you can. BTW, my daughter is eight and is a HUGE Cheetah Girls fan, and I admit I am one as well!!! Peace, Vanessa

Oh howdy!

I posted a reply to your other thread without seeing this introduction first. This helps get a sense of your situation, as you mentioned briefly there.

You have really cool interests.

I'm a theater person, so that all sounds great to me! It can be really hard to find a niche in the arts - keep getting out there and meeting folks who are busy in the biz. Talk to them and let them know you're available for gigs. You just graduated, so it may take some time before you're working steadily in creative endeavors. I went through a massive sadness after I finished my undergrad (hmmm, and masters too, come to think of it.) You go from being immersed in everything you love to, hmm well, a job in retail? Understandable that would get you a little down.

Keep working. Things will change.

Ditto for the comments made by Zerbie (we're both singers). A life in art can be tough. And not to put too fine a point on it: I always remind myself that its called showbusiness for a reason. The latter part of the word can get short shrift when in school. Half of it is getting out there and promoting yourself: endlessly. Like Zerbie said, one just has to keep at it.

Welcome!
