Hi, everyone,

My name is BenL from Massachusetts, where the Constitutional Convention is considering today whether to send an amendment to the voters to deny same-sex couples the right to marry, a right granted them two years ago by the state Supreme Court.

I am 62 years old, a member of a very welcoming Episcopal church, where I am active as an acolyte and as a teacher with three others of a long-running spirituality course called Emmaus.

I am a gay man married to a transman, an FtM (female-to-male transsexual). My spouse's coming out two years ago has cost us our relationship with our two adult children, the deepest emotional hurt I have ever experienced. I am healing with the help of a good therapist and lots of prayer and the support of many GLBT friends. I am hoping to meet other Christian people who realize that they are made in God's image and love -- with no reservations -- and who rejoice in that love.

Hi Ben, and welcome to Soulforce!

I'm originally from MA (Western MA) and grew up in the Episcopal church. I attend one here in Georgia, now. I'm sorry to hear about your loss of contact with your children, but I hope that, over time, they will come to understand and the relationship will be healed.

Blessings, and I hope you will enjoy the Soulforce forums as much as I have!

That sounds heartbreaking. :'( I'm sorry.

All the best to you and your spouse.

Welcome to Soulforce - I think you'll find this a very warm and friendly environment.

Thanks, Susan. We go to All Saints, Worcester -- same diocese as you grew up in. I trust that our relationships with our kids will heal in God's time. I'm just a little impatient, I guess.
