Hello my name is Rachel.
I was born and raised in Lynchburg, VA. I just finished reading Stranger at the Gate and I just wanted to see if I could get more information and help. I am a Christian but I am struggling with being gay as well.
I cant talk to anyone here because as many of you know Lynchburg is the "Conservative Capital of the World".
My friend said that if I really wanted answers to my questions I should come here. She talks very highly of you guys and from what I have read of the forums I know she was not exaggerating.
Thank you.

Welcome, Rachel.

What sort of information are you looking for? (Unfortunately I haven't read the book yet.)

(Well, I find it wonderful)

We have a lot of answers and information here, if you have the time to follow the threads, and read our posts. Perhaps a thread that sums up almost all of the arguments for and against would be this one:

It is a VERY long one, but it contains a very large amount of information. It starts out a little rocky, but gets very warm toward the end. Or this one:

In your travels, please remember three things: God loves you, you can come here and talk to us as much as you want, and we won't chase you away, and finally, God loves you. :agree:  :good: :applause:

Peace and Love, Bruce Chris

Glad that you found your way to us. Your friend is right, this is a good place to be to learn how lovable and perfect we are, just as we are. I hope that you will learn to embrace your sexual identity and celebrate it openly. Peace on your journey, come around whenever you can. Vanessa
