Hey, my name is Courtney. I'm a Christian lesbian teen. In the last couple of months I've created a forum for gay Christian teens like me because I realized the lack of resources for those of us teens fitting that catagory.(comingoutreach.10.forumer.com) I am out to most of my friends except for those at church. My mom knows and is clearly unaccepting of it. I've done my research. I know about mistranslations and biases of the translators and whatnot. I'm just looking for support and to further the ministry on my forum.

As far as some basic facts: I am 15 in March, I play guitar and soccer, music is a big part of my life, I have a girlfriend named Veronica who is also a Christian, and I want to be a journalist/photographer.

God bless,
Courtney

Hi Courtney, welcome. I wish you good luck strengthening the relationship with your mother. Big issues like this take time to deal with, as I'm sure you know. Wish you the best,

Zerbie

Yeah. I'm hoping she will eventually come around. I think maybe if I tell her what I've learned about what the Bible really says about homosexuality, she'll be accepting of it, but it's a sore subject that I'm afraid to bring up.

Hey Courtney, newbie to newbie hellos :) I'm so heartened by your courage at 15! It took me a lot longer to work up the courage to try and start something similar, and that was when i was in college, and much more independent from my parents. Not to mention much more accepting of myself! I hope you experience the same feeling of well being when you change the world around you to "fit" a little better with what you feel is right :)

hey
im 18 and i live in Australia
ive only recently started coming out and its confusing as hell. ive been brought up in a christian household and i go to church almost every week and ive read stuff about the whole gay-christian thing and i dont think theres anything wrong with being gay but i still dont want to be too obvious about it. especially to my mum, who completely mistrusts my best friend, who's also gay, and is really quite disapproving of the whole thing
Its nice to know there are ppl out there who care tho
thanks guys!

hey there, glad to have you in the forum :) I'm glad you've been able to get an education about gay-christian issues on your own, and that you've been able to reconcile any differences between the two for yourself at least! as for your mom, well, my advice is to make sure you are as independent as you can be before you tell her. she may take quite a while to come around, and you don't want to have your life changed if she's not ready accept it right away. otherwise, keep reading up, keep exploring, and hey, maybe think about starting a SoulForce chapter in Australia! ;)
