Hello,

I am looking for Gay oriented Christmas cards to send to family.

Does anyone have any ideas or website links?

Here's the deal,

I am Gay, my partner and I have an adopted child and we live a very happy life.

My family is mostly born again Assembly of God robots.

I had to make the decision recently that I would keep myself, my partner and our son away from all of them. It is just too toxic and makes me feel uncomfortable when I am around them.

They argue how unfair I am to ignore them because they claim to "LOVE" me! I just can not be close to someone who is against my life and support a church who against Gay rights and equality. It's all just too crazy for me.

I would like to send them all a card that would convey some of my feelings in a nice Gay oriented way by way of a Christmas Card to each of them.

ANY IDEAS Please???

Hi there srspring: I just met a woman here in my area, who is selling her own design of Christmas and all occasion cards, many of which are gay themed cards, integrating rainbows in all of them. In addition, she does a card and can enlarge it as a print, of two men with a child. Anything sound like you would want to hear more? If so, send me a private message and I will see about her scanning some of her work to send you on line, or something. She is just getting started and her work is pretty incredible. Hope to hear from you soon. Vanessa

Hi srspring! You can try checking out the shop on www.hrc.org. Specifically, this page has holiday cards:

http://hrccornerstore.myimagefirst.com/store/browse.asp?id=719&mscssid=5GD4LN8EM1S99LJALTL42VN5MHAKART2

I thought Rosie O'Donnell's site used to have stuff like that, too, but I don't see it in her shop anymore. You can link to her store by going to www.rosie.com and click on the link to the right -- 100% of profits go to kids charities, so it's a neat place to shop, too. Some of the stuff on clearance has the Rfamily logo, which shows two same gender parents with two kids. I was hoping for you they would have notecards, but I didn't see any.

If I come across anything else, I'll let you know.

Susan :)

Hello again: I just found out from the artist, Jen, that she now has a link to her store of merchandise through Ebay. Just go to Ebay, put in the search promiseink (all one word) and it will take you to a sample of her cards. Click on one of the cards, and it will take you to her store. Please, let me know how you make out. Good luck! Vanessa :)

I looked at the Human Rights Campaign site. Was not really what I was looking for. Didn't want to jam it down their throats at Christmas time. (Being a card from the Human Rights campaign etc. it has the mission statement on back)

Didn't see anything on Rosies site.

I also looked at "promiseink" very nice cards but again, they seem more like cards to send other Gay friends or more accepting family members.

Not sure what I am looking for. Maybe I should just not send anything:confused: It's probably some family dyfunctional guilt that is motivating me anyway:( Not sure if I really care at this point:eek:

Thanks again but Happy Holidays to you and yours!!:) !!

Maybe you would want to consider getting cards made, ones with maybe a picture of the three of you on the front... they would be sweet and relativley simple... they don't exactly say her I am except me as I am or leave me alone, but more just says that here's my family and I love them, Merry Christmas..... or even to go one step simpler, you could just get any old store bought Christmas card that you like, and inside just put a small picture of all of you... once again, simple, saying I love you but his IS who I am whether you like it or not. I don't know, just a thought. Good Luck finding what you want! If you get an idea of what you're looking for let us know and we'll try and help you find what you're looking for.

I know several couples that make up a newsletter about the year's happenings since last christmas. If you are comfortable with your word processor you could make one up with pictures inserted in the newsletter. Just let the newsletter be your holiday greeting. You could print it on christmas themed stationery.
