There are so many great classics out there... but it's so easy to forget what they're called or forget them all together if you haven't heard them in a while. So got crazy, tell us all your favorite classics! :weee:

my students have been enjoying "I want hippopotamus for Christmas" and "Dominick the Donkey" I'd have to say that those are irritating, but not nearly as bad as "grandma got run over by a reindeer"

'No Mirrors in my Nana's House', classic, I don't know, but in my mind it is
'Ain't No Sunshine'
'Woman in Somalia', by Sade, a little odd, but I like it....
..Then more of the real classics......
'Dream on', by Aerosmith
'Stairway to Heaven', by Led Zeppelin
...I'll post more, but I want to hear other people's:)

If you put those in the same category I'll have to look up the first two... I've never head of them... but I have to say I do find 'grandma got run over by a reindeer' completely entertaining... my sister and I actually used changed some of the lyrics to come fit a very funny/weird thing that happened last year... but I can definately see how it can be really annoying if that's not your type of thing.

Christmas classics include: "White Christmas" by Johnny Mathis; "Merry Christmas Darling" by the Carpenters. Non Christmas include "Build me up buttercup", "Groove is in the Heart"; "Pump up the Volume"- the ones that I used to love to dance to in my younger days........

don't know what..."Groove is in the Heart" and "Pump up the Volume" are... I'll have to look those up.. but I love "Build me up Buttercup", everytime I hear it I think of the movie 'There's something about Mary', kind of riculous and stupid, but what can I say... I love it..

"Dream On" was my graduation song from high school. I'm into alot of 90's rock....like the hair bands and alternative
Fun? Oh...most anything by the Carpenters. :)

California Dreamin' by the Momma's & the Pappa's
All the leaves are brown
All the leaves are brown
And the sky is grey
And the sky is grey
Ive been for a walk
Ive been for a walk
On a winters day
On a winters day
Id be safe and warm
Id be safe and warm
If I was in l.a.
If I was in l.a.
California dreamin
California dreamin
On such a winters day
Stopped into a church
I passed along the way
Well, I got down on my knees
Got down on my knees
And I pretend to pray
I pretend to pray
You know the preacher likes the cold
Preacher likes the cold
He knows Im gonna stay
Knows Im gonna stay
California dreamin
California dreamin
On such a winters day
All the leaves are brown
All the leaves are brown
And the sky is grey
And the sky is grey
Ive been for a walk
Ive been for a walk
On a winters day
On a winters day
If I didnt tell her
If I didnt tell her
I could leave today
I could leave today
California dreamin
California dreamin
On such a winters day
California dreaming
On such a winters day
California dreaming

That song is why the ringtone for my gf is the sound of birds chirping!!!
I adore the song "I'm Coming Out" (I want the world to know, got to let it show...). Not sure of the artist, but it reminds me of a funny commercial where a bunch of belly buttons were singing to welcome in the belly-shirts of summer. The song also has an obvious personal anthem.
