I've been away for a while, so it's time for everyone to give an update of what's currently occupying their time.

Your life now - What's new? What's interesting? What would you like to share about you life now that nobody has asked about? Give us the summary update!

-------------------------------------------------------------
My gf and I just moved into a new apartment, still in northeast PA. We're loving it. Our relationship is seeing some new tests with this new ground, but everything's solid still. I'm happy with my job, gf is looking for a new one, and my lizard is a happy boy with his job of sleeping all day. This is the first year my girl and I have really tried to see both families on the holidays, so it's all new and interesting. Vanessa (from the forum) and I are looking into big things for northeast PA in the future (maybe I'll let her elaborate).

I'm excited. Lots of change, but mostly for the better. I miss you guys  here, but won't have internet at home just yet - maybe in January.

As Mia said, we have grand plans for right here in NE PA. to create a local chapter of Soulforce, or something like it. We want to gather some LGBT persons and allies from our local area, including civic, community, and religious representatives, to bring equality and justice to light in our local area for gay persons. We hope to have our first organizational meeting in January of the new year, and see how much support we can round up. We already have some activity ideas in mind as well. It is all quite exciting and energizing for both of us. We also have met a new person in our local community who is a great artist, and is trying to launch her own gay themed card line and we are hoping she will do some artwork for us. Besides that big news, life for me is adjusting to my new home and visits with my kid. The adjustment is so painful sometimes, but I have to try to keep remembering that is the best way for things to be, and better things are soon to come.......
Anyone else want to jump in? Mia has been away for quite some time......

I'm very close to becoming a Permanent Resident of Canada. I should be able to travel to the states again by some time in 2007, and if I can talk the SO into it I'm hoping to participate in the next Soulforce "activity" (for lack of a better word :) ) within a reasonable distance from Toronto - i.e. Northeast states like New York or Maine, the Ohio/Michigan area, etc etc.

I've also been looking for a job (on and off) for the past month or so.

You go girl! Toronto is a great place. Love going there. Great people. Warm. Welcoming and smart. Canada is showing it's southern neighbor 'how it's done'.

While I live in NYC, I have yet to get to a SF meeting at the Gay Center on 13th St- my work keeps me occupied in the evenings, though I was able to get to a fundraiser for the ERide this summer. So, one thing I hope to do in the New Year is get to a meeting and show my face!

I've also been working on finishing writing a book- it's taken me over a decade to do the research. Once I finish it, a major life-project will be realized. It has made me reflect on several things: 1) we don't do anything of importance by ourselves and 2) big things take a good deal of planning and forethought. In this sense, I admire Sf very much. I sense a long range vision here. That can only be good. Very good.
