i have a prayer request. My sister in Christ, Sheila was admitted to the hospital today. Her liver is dying and she needs a liver ASAP. Pray for her partner, Jessie. i know it is hard on her too. Also pray that Sheila can raise $5000 because she won't get on the doner list until she raises that amount.

God Bless,
Christy:pray:

Christy,

Sheila and Jessie, as well as you who are offering them so much support, are in my prayers, even as I sit here and work. For me, prayer is not so much about an agenda, but about submitting to God people and their situations. God knows what's going on. Sometimes when we're too close to the situation, we start bargaining with God instead of trusting in God's love and mercy.

That said, I have a request of my own that falls right into that category. We talked to our son last night. He's going to spend Christmas with his sister, who doesn't talk to us at all. And neither of them want to see us. This has been happening since their mother started transition to male two years ago. I love Charley (my spouse) so much, and I support his journey totally, but my heart is breaking cuz I love my kids, too. So, please pray for our family, guys.

P.S. If anyone is interested in starting a SF prayer chain, formally or informally, I'd be interested. Or does one already exist?

Hi Ben,
Thanks for your prayers for Sheila and Jessie. I will pray for you and your spouse and your children. I have some friends that are transgender but they are MTF but it does not matter because we are all God's children even the GBLT people. I am a lesbian and my parents don't accept me as their lesbian daughter. They say they love me but they don't condone my gay lifestyle.:'( They are not going to the church's Christmas play because they said if they go it would be as they the homosexual lifestyle. My aunt however is going. i am glad someone in the family has good sense. So many people are so narrow minded.

God Bless,
Christy

Hi Ben,
I fail to mention prayer chains. I don't know if we have one but it would be a good idea. which forum do you think prayer chain will fall under? i was thinking Faith and non-violence.

God Bless,
Christy

Christy,

'Faith and Nonviolence' sounds like a good place to me for prayer requests. If everyone titled them "Prayer Request" followed by their screen name, we could keep track of them. I would welcome all faiths and traditions, because God is God and hears all prayer. I would also welcome responses from people who don't believe in prayer but wish to send positive energy or healing thoughts to someone, or just to express sympathy and concern. To me, those are valid expressions of prayer in a cosmic sense.

Is anyone else interested in this as a ministry? What do the moderators think? Would a different forum or a separate one be more appropriate?

Christy and BenL: First of all, prayers to your loved ones in their time of need. I hope that all will be taken care of and God will hold you in his warm embrace. I would definitely be interested in an ongoing forum/thread for prayer requests, or a prayer chain of sorts. This is definitely the right place for it, I believe. Peace and love to you both, and your loved ones, Vanessa

Vanessa,

Thanks for the prayers and love. I believe that God will take care of things in God's own way and time. It's the "warm embrace" I welcome at times like this, so thanks for reminding me how readily available it is to anyone.
