I'm sorry to hear about your separation. Not only sad as you say, but in this country, a sad 'novelty' (legally married, MA), you record breaker you.. ok I'll shut up now. :D

Yes, it's a sad reality, the right to marry carries with it the right to have a marriage fall apart. I was never a big activist for the right to marry given how badly straights have messed it up, so now "legality" provides for a legal problem to end it. I would not have done it unless I had felt very sure it would last, but alas life provides no guarantees. Thankfully it isn't an angry situation, but I do wish I had followed my original instincts about not wanting to be married.

And I, too, am sorry to hear of your loss. What a big decision and then to have it not work out must be heartbreaking, even with no anger involved. I am a 44 year old lesbian living in PA, and eight months ago ended a ten year relationship with my partner, and we are now coparenting our nine year old daughter. We applied for the license in MA, out at P-town, but then she chickened out so we didn't get married. So glad that you found us at the right time, it is all about the LOVE here!!!!
