For many months I have watched several programs and tv shows about how both sides feel about equal rights for LGBT people. It almost seems to me the far right coversatives are almost saying that we deserve no rights at all just because they believe homosexuality isn't right doesn't mean we don't deserve rights. I did however watch a program that was on KET which was tapped with a member from the Kentucky Fairness Alliance I was really dissapointed in what took place it seemed like to me the woman for the group didn't speak up at all and what was most disburting was a democrat on there was only talking about demestic partner benefits saying that they should be available like if someone had a grandfather that lived with them when it came to talking about rights for LGBT he gave kind of a digusted look like the two conversatives that were on the show. The reason I have thought about becoming an activist is for the reason I would like to try to make a difference in someway or somehow get involed. I think it's sad America all of countries that is the land of the free is denying us rights just on their moral beliefs. As far as putting on voting balets to ban gay marriage I think thats not fair at all. Sometimes I feel like they treat LGBT people like abused animals and that has been something that has been on my mind for quiet a while. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I think every human rather they are gay or straight should be treatly equally.

Do it! Sign yourself up for whatever project needs volunteers that peaks your interest - or start something. Have you got local chapters for, say, Soulforce, HRC, even PFLAG gets into advocacy - ? Check out those organizations and see what strikes your fancy.
