Ezri is a two-year old dog (mostly beagle, some jack russell) that I adopted from the humane society. She is very skittish around people, but she loves to play with toys with other dogs.
Here are some pics of my pups. They are both 4 yrs old. Got them from Forever Paws Animal Shelter, Shep (the brown & white one) I picked out of a litter of five. He was jumping around the cage and barking like a fool, and I said "that's the one I want". He was born 12-26-01, and I adopted him 2-14-02 Don't confuse the 2 of us, I just use his name in the blogs.
Buddy (the black one) We saw in the FPAS website and went down to take a look at him. He was so cute in that cage, all alone and looking to be loved. He was 4 months old and was picked up off the streets by the animal officer. We had to wait in case someone claimed him, and we are glad that no one did. He must have had a rough time because he was kind of nervous and scared of things. I better stop now or I'll have their whole biography in this post. Shep's first pic, The day we brought Buddy home, Shep & Buddy watching Animal Planet, Shep in our backyard (looking for squirrels), Buddy relaxing on our bed.

Jamie,
Are all 3 your dogs? Looks like it's a lot of fun around your house. Socks are my dogs favorite toys also.
To everyone else: Come on now, I want to see all the pets.

Jamie,
Are all 3 your dogs?
No, the West Highland White Terrier is my parent's and the Shitzu is my brother and sister-in-law's dog. And they found the Aflac duck that goes on a golf club.

Here are our two brussels griffons. Their names are Boure (the smaller one) and Bubbles. They are the joy of our lives -- although Boure still poops and pees in the house at times.

What kind of dogs are they? They're all really cute!
Bill: I never heard of brussels griffons, so I got out my dog book and looked them up. Sounds like they are a good little dogs and fun to have around.
Joe: Great pics, especially the face close-up, then again the two faces close up is good too. Oh well can't make up my mind. Do the dogs get along with the cats? Hmmmm, I guess they do if you all sleep together.

They are both standard size American Eskimo. We got Nikita first but she had been (badly) abused when we adopted her. Most of her fur had fallen out, and she was very stressed. SHe fell in love with my partner and I at the shelter. We wanted a dog to pick us instead of us picking a dog. She picked us. She was very submissive and timid and would shake if you looked at her funny. We put her on some anti-depressants and some "hugs and love" therapy. That seem to work but not enough. She had a big problem with suubmissive urination and it was destroying the house.
I figured in my sexist head, that hey, she is a female, and she feels submissive. If I get her a puppy to play with, she will feel like she is the "top dog" and her mother instincts will kick in..... I emailed the Eskie rescue and ask if they ever get puppies. This woman named Wanda emailed me back and said they rarely do get pups, BUT she had just gotten one that day!!!! 4 months old and also abused. She felt in was fate.....I said Okay, I want him......
I drove 10 hours to Fredricksburg to get him and he came home cuddled in my lap......Nikita loved him from day one and she has never had one of her submissive pee's again......(okay that is a stretch, once in a blue moon she gets scared)
Just goes to show it takes time and love and anyone can come back......
Can you tell I work in Mental health.....

The oldest cats Lucy hates the dogs and the other cat....unless it is about the couch....they will all lay on the couch without a fight....the rest of the time, Lucy rules the house....She will even beat up the dogs so they are scared of her. Hell, she will scratch me up if she is in a mood. She is very lovey the rest of the time.
Furbie loves the dogs and they all play like little kids. Kinda cute....

Ok - the dog (very, very bad dog) is my parent's Cairn's Terrier - Sunshine. Her likes are toys that squeak, and naps in the sunshine (go figure). Her dislikes are our neighbor Frank, and sounds that resemble "knocking". She's in love with our cat Stumpy and antagonizes him constantly :)
The first cat (I think) is "Big Baby", who is approximately 15 years old - and has out-lived MANY cats in his lifetime despite being blind in one eye, deaf in the other ear, and with respitory problems. He's *my* baby!
The second cat is "Kizzie" - she is my baby girl :) She's fat and doesn't give a crap what anyone thinks of her (wish I could say the same). She LOVES to roll around on her back and get her belly rubbed - which isn't typically a cat-thing to do. Right now, I'm fighting with my Dad about keeping her because she has been peeing all over the house. This may be my last week with her :'(
The last cat is "Stumpy". He's a BEAUTIFUL cat! He has this egyptian look to him...beautiful eyes. I love taking pictures of him...however...he LOVES the camera...so usually he's blurry in all of the photographs LOL.
This is my family :)

I had a dog that looked like Sunshine when I was a kid. Does Sunshine like to eat carrots? :)

Carrots? Yes. That's also a yes to: tissues, plastic, wood, leather, rubber, scraps of miscellaneous stuff on the table that is not identifiable, fingers (although she only gets as far as chewing, on those), ankles (ditto), grass and flowers - especially the ones that were just planted, dried cranberries, strawberries, ice - you get the idea ;)

My uncle's giant rottweiler chewed open a bottle of pills and they weren't sure if he got to any of them, so they had to pump his stomach. When they did, they found that he'd swallowed rocks, sticks, a soda bottle cap, and lots of random stuff.
