Hello:

I have copied an email I received from the AFA (yes I like to keep my eyes on those organizations that I consider a threat to me)! I wanted to put it out in case anyone would like to have a vigil during one or more of the nights of the program!

Dear Dennis,
The annual biblical Worldview Weekend conference in Branson, Missouri, will be held the weekend of April 27 & 28 and will again feature a line up of wonderful Christian speakers including the son of the late President Ronald Reagan. Michael Reagan is well known for his nationally syndicated radio talk show and his frequent appearances on the Fox News Channel. Michael touched many lives when he gave a Christian witness during the eulogy he delivered at Ronald Reagan’s funeral in June of 2005 witnessed by millions around the world. For more information visit http://www.worldviewweekend.com/secure/bransonfamilyreunion/ (http://www.worldviewweekend.com/secure/bransonfamilyreunion/).
Other speakers include Dr. Woodrow Kroll of Back to the Bible, Ken Ham of Answers in Genesis and Dr. Norman Geisler who is considered one of the very best in the country at teaching Christians how to defend their faith in the marketplace of ideas. Brannon Howse, founder and president of Worldview Weekend, and American Family Association president Tim Wildmon will again co-host the conference this year. Special guests also include world-famous pianist Dino Kartsonakis and the father-son comedy team of Matt "Bubba" Gumm and Thom "Gabby" Gumm.

The sheer fact that they have links such as this - http://www.afa.net/aa120806.asp - makes me sick. Seriously, these people need to get a life and stop trying to ruin ours.

I would take action against groups like this in a heartbeat.

Just a little more baldness, and that Wildman guy would be a dead ringer for the original Elmer Fudd. You don't suppose Mr Wildman is suppressing an interest in Bugs Bunny's fluffy little tail, do you?

Sorry, that was uncalled for. I should be ashamed.

these people are weird. isn't advertising supposed to be... umm... a freedom? isn't that covered in freedom of speech? its funny that they listen to some laws and not others...

indeed, heh...

and Davidcom, I did just that! I wrote to Sears and sent them that link, and basically told them not to listen to that garbage. I thanked them for their support on behalf of the entire GLBT community.

It's just so sad...

I thought I would send a brief note to Sears in support of their advertising, but the email address AFA provides is inoperative. I sent it twice, and it bounced back twice, undeliverable. Anyone else?

I went to the Sears website and just went to the "contact us" section and got their e-mail :)

I moved this thread because it is more appropriate for the GLBT News/Issues forum than it is for the Community Center "Hello my name is....." forums.
