a little southern lesbian

hi! my name is tara - as the title says, i'm a little southern lesbian - literally. i'm 5'1" and live in south carolina. i've been through a lot of struggles with southern baptist parents and family, and continue to live out in the deep south. there's not much of a network in SC but i do have supportive close friends and a few relatives. i was inspired by mel white's stranger at the gate and religion gone bad. i hope to find information on how to get involved with atlanta's soul force and get to know more about the organization.

hi tara!

i go to a southern baptist university. and i hate that i get associated with that. i'm nondenominational (i go to a wesleyan church) and i think it's ridiculous how people treat the LGBT community. it doesn't matter; christ loves EVERYONE and we should too.

Here, being LGBT is more relaxed. (Half of our city council is gay, and the assistant mayor in St. Paul is trans.)
