i am haven. haven from dallas. recently of richmond. always passing through. I am going on the equality ride next spring, so I and several others are in the midst of planning that. I went to the actions at liberty university and the naval academy. The latter had more traction for me because we couldn't be shunted off into the no man's land of 'we love you, we just hate who you are and what you do.' bitters, i know. that's why i am riding. I need to learn compassion and patience. I somewhat recently graduated from college in Virginia. I studied painting and drawing. Mostly i had interesting conversations with my professors and then go out of the conservative lifestyle there. I suppose that is a fairly accurate representation. I promise i will never use an emoticon.

Haven... I followed the Equality Ride each day... I was very proud of you all... I miss the updates... seems as if once the ride was over there was no wrap up for those of us who followed you so closely... Keep up the great work in Minneapolis...

I need to learn compassion and patience. Thanks for "taking 'em on." And I love the 'no man's land' bit, We love you, we just want you to tolerate us not tolerating you or taking you seriously as a human being. I love the 'bitters,' you can always come rant with me. I too need to learn compassion and patience. Got the post card from the naval academy, I'm assuming because I've donated to Soulforce before, thanks a lot.

Glad to have you here/back, :rainbow:

I'm really glad to see you here - I wondered if any other the Equality Riders read these forums.

I'm Mia from Pennsylvania. I visited you and the other riders at Eastern University.

HEY! Emoticons aren't that bad! Especially when there's the ever-appropriate rainbow one :rainbow:!

Really, though, welcome friend.

I LOVE EMOTICONS- there, I said it! Haven, I know your original intro was from several months and events ago, but I do hope that you will check in regularly. Now that the ER are over, for this year anyway, I am missing the updates and the daily dose of activism from afar. Mia and I still have hopes to create a chapter of SF more locally, at least begin to raise awareness about it. I look forward to meeting you at some point in the future. My sister lives in Richmond, by the way, if that is Richmond, VA (I am not sure if there is any other???). ANyway, welcome and hope to see you around here and the other forums! Peace out, Vanessa     (SEE?)

Haven: I was at the sendoff, at the Methdist church, and then again when the ride came back thru Mpls. I just finished your column in Friday's
Lavender. Some very thoughtful writing. Now I hear on Public Radio that
two gay "men", one of them named Haven, are going to try to join the military.

Boy, you sure don't let any grass grow under your feet! I wish I had your energy.

Peace and Love, BruceChris

If you think that you were confused, you should have heard Public Radio's response when I called and told them of their mistake!
