Here's a page containing some common gay rights slogans:

Pro-gay slogans and symbols - Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pro-gay_slogans_and_symbols)

Is anyone here aware of any other memorable gay rights slogans, especially any really clever or funny ones? Or would anyone here like to brainstorm some new ones?

I'd be interested not only in gay rights slogans but also in more general anti-religious-right-wing slogans. Back in the 1980's a popular and very clever slogan in the latter category was "The Moral Majority is neither." Alas, that one is kind of dated. Does anyone here know of, or feel inclined to brainstorm, any more up-to-date ones?

i remember shouting out these during my Queer Nation days:

Three, Five, Seven, Nine, Homosex is mighty fine!

and a 'responsive' one:

Q: What do we want?

A: Husbands!

Q: When do we want 'em?

A: Now!

The following isn't a slogan, but was a popular & successful visibility action that Queer Nation in Pittsburgh used to do back in the early 90s: Suburban Homosexual Outreach Program (SHOP) We'd load up a bunch of the most flamboyant folks we could find, head out to one of the outlying malls, and generally be out, loud & proud (and frighten as many horses as we could) for a few hours. It prompted alot of dialogue with typical shoppers, and surprisingly few confrontations. It was also a load of fun!

I want to design a T-shirt with a campfire on it, with rainbow flames, and a caption reading: "Caution, may cause third degree burns."

I'm partial to:

Q: "What do we want?"

A: "Full equality and freedom from discrimination, violence and ongoing marginalization by political and religious leaders!"

Q: "When do we want it?"

A: "Now!"

But for some reason it just hasn't caught on...

I saw one a few months ago that said,"I don't mind straight people as long as they don't act like it in public" I thought that was great! DefCon sent me one that said "Because the Religious Right is Wrong!" I liked that one, too.

How about using "LOVE orientation" instead of "SEXUAL orientation?"

I'm all over that one. I've been saying forever it should be called "affectional orientation," since it INCLUDES sexual feelings, but all the other feelings too. 'Affectional' sounds good to my ears, and it's a far better descriptor of what's actually being talked about.

i also have a button that says on it 'racism, sexism, homophobia- recognise the connection'.

my husband and i collect buttons- we're always on the look-out for really good activist buttons!

a quote from melissa ehtridge that might be an inspiration from some lines:

Mothers tell your children
Be quick you must be strong
Life is full of wonder
Love is never wrong
Remember how they taught you
How much of it was fear
Refuse to hand it down
The legacy stops here
