This is not technically a "Hello..." post, since I am not new - I am but one member of a truly unique and welcoming community. So, I would like to say, "Hello, and welcome", anyway.

This is a safe community in which to share your feelings. Whether you are thrilled that the Equality Riders came to your area, or saddened or even angry, we look forward to engaging with you in loving and respectful dialogue.

We would very much to engage with you on the issues that the E-Riders raised.

Keep in mind that is is not necessary for us to agree with each other - actually many of us already here frequently disagree - but we hope to do so with attitudes of humility, love and respect. I pray your experience of us mirrors our hope.

Take a little time to look around, if you like, or jump right in with a post.

Either way, be welcome.

God bless, Andy

Thanks for coming. I'm not a Notre Dame student but a student from a school nearby. Thank you for being a breath of fresh air. I am a "new" lesbian; I've decided not to be in denial but haven't come out yet. Coming out would mean expulsion or "anti-gay" therapy, and neither option is very enticing at the moment (especially since I'm a semester away from graduation). Because of this, I'm patiently waiting for graduation and a move to California. I want to study film and produce independent films one day.

Hi Squirt- welcome to the forum. The words 'hang in there' have a lot more weight under your current circumstances. I hear you loud and clear! When I was in school years ago, I but did not tell a single soul about what I felt (but had not yet acted on). There's wisdom in being patient.

I hardly know of what I speak, but NYC, like LA, seems to have a vibrant independent film world. A week doesn't go back where I don't see someone shooting a scene- day and night.

Good luck to you!

Howdy Squirt!

You've only got about 2 months then, right? Then graduation I assume is in May? That'll fly by quickly.

Welcome to the forum. And best of luck to you in your film pursuits. That sounds really cool.

Thanks for the welcome. I appreciate this forum to dialog open and honestly. Writing is a great refugee while I wait out my time.

I am adding to the welcomes here, Squirt. Sounds like an emotionally and physically safe decision to remain quiet about yourself at this point. Wait until you are free to be who you really are, in a new environment. Film sounds like great fun, and challenging as well. Good luck, peace and love to you in your journeys. I don't get around as often as I would like anymore, but this is a great place to be!!!!! Vanessa
