I was lurking on the Snopes.com messaging bored in their "Rantidote" section and found this.

Heres a little backround for you. Around 4 months ago, a nice couple came to our shelter wanting to adopt a dog. They instantly fell in love with a dog I had been working with for several weeks. This dog was very hard to place. He was poorly socialized and very skittish, although not agressive. They ended up taking him home. In the four monthes they have had "Ralph" he has blossomed from a dog who ran away when people talked to him to a dog who greets everyone he meets with a wagging tail and kisses. He goes to doggy day care when both parents work late and his owners are hoping that soon he will get a therapy dog certification so he can go to the nursing homes in the area.
Last weekend they came back to look at a buddy for Ralph. They told us that they had looked at another adoption agency in their home town, but had been turned down to adopt. The reason? They are a lesbian couple. Yes, you heard me right, apparently gay couples not only can not raise children, they can not raise animals. I don't have any idea what the shelters reasoning was there. Will the dogs sexuality be warped? Considering animals don't seem to have sexuality I think not. Furthermore I would think that we did more to warp Ralphs hypothetical sexuality by neutering him then being raised by lesbians ever could.
It just makes me furious to think that that other dog lost out on a wonderful home because they staff were bigots.

So they think we are not only going to raise gay and lesbian children, but pets, too? Hmmm! We are really infectious!!! Didn't know that. My two daughters are nowhere near lesbians and I gave birth to them. Wow, that flies in the face of that retarded theory! You are right, hip, the world is just a blithering idiot!

That when innocent young white boys and girls are seduced by someone of the wrong skin color, or sexual orientation, they are hopelessly trapped in that "Lifestyle". But that's not an Urban Legend, it's really just common sense. The more sinful that something is, the more tempting it must be, and vice versa.
(But then Andy and I at least agree on that: Temptation is Good For You!)

Good lord that is insane. Do they think the couple is going to convert the dog and make the dog gay?!?! The bizarre and hurtful things people do in the name of "morality".

I'm married to a person of Swiss descent ... and chocolate and cheese are legal tender in his personal economy!
Queer for chocolate and cheese! :D  :weee: :applause:

I'm not sure that I would try your idea for a political platform, at least not on a hot day. You would slide right off! (I think that happened to Bob Dole once........

Did you ask for contact information on the animal adoption agency in question? It would be interesting to hear what they have to say about this.

ha! yes, that would be slippery...i am thinking of 'charlie and the chocolate factory' with johnny depp when he builds the palace for the prince and it melts.... all goopy, but oh-so-yummy!
sex, motorcycles, and chocolate sounds good- could call a political party that...the SMC party....

aye, diane, it would be intriguing to hear what the agency in question had to say about their decision- it might also be a good opportunity to share a little love and hope to change a few hearts in the process.
