It is good to find an organization that is so involved in activisim. I am in school right now, normally I would be traveling but since Ive gotten myself stuck Ive looked around for an active group in the community to get involved in.
It has been a slightly depressing experience, although we have a center here, therre isint much of a movement occuring. Ive landed myself smack dab in the middle of the bible belt, people here call it the buckle of the bible belt, which isint bad in and of itself, I have compleate respect for any mode of spirituality, if someones life path leads them toward christianity, I rejoice with them. There seems to be alot of predjudice though, not due to original christian moral but due to, as I see it, a misinterpritation of Jesus' life, and scripture. I heard that the East bus sent out by this organization is coming to town, and decided to get involved, It is good to be a part of soul force!
In Peace,
Synthia

Please feel free to join in the discussions, or just lurk; whatever you're most comfortable with. There are also alot of resources here about non-violence and activism.

Welcome, Synthia.

You'll find a prayer thread for the Equality Riders under the "Faith and nonviolence" forum and a thread to post news of the Rides under the "Soulforce activism" forum.

We're glad you're here to share your activism with us. Good luck finding your place in this important work.

You can always go directly to www.equalityride.com - for their latest blogs and updates. And pictures, bios, route maps, and schedules, come to think of it. Come, post, and meet the people. :applause: :rainbow:

Hi Synthia,

Welcome. I had a frustrating journey trying to hit stride as an activist, a lot of the time there was nothing going on where I was, that sort of thing.
So I can relate to frustration on that front. Oh yeah.

Soulforce is a good bunch o' people. Hope you get out to an event! (And that I will too, one day soon.)
