We need to actually create that map... then we could all have a picnic!

I'll bring the ants ... but don't worry, they will be very well behaved ... and they will all be wearing Soulforce T-shirts and waving little rainbow flags.

Sherrie,

Your ants are definitely well behaved if you can get them to stand still long enough to get those little t-shirts on them.

The ants here at my house are not that thoughtful. One night last September they came into my kitchen and ate my entire birthday cake. But have I ever been invited to any of their birthdays?

NO!

Rick

Hello Rick!

It has come to our attention that you are due some birthday cake. We would be happy to invite you to any of our birthday parties anytime you like.

We apologize for the impolite behavior of some of our cousins. We promise that we will provide plenty of cake just for you.

In Solidarity,

Adam Ant, President
GLBT Picnic Ants Union, Local 735

We all need to jump on and volunteer to bring something different to the picnic, for the ants and ourselves, so we don't all bring the same kind of food. My daughter and I make a mean pasta salad, or we could bring cake for Rick, or how about fruit salsa with some cinammon pita triangles? MMMM, sounds yummy. Who will bring the checkered tablecloth?:) :)

But I'll provide the park and picknic grounds, and a beautiful day. There will be a large and accessable parking lot, with a long, but not TOO long winding path, down to the lake. The lake will have a nice sandy beach, and the water will be warm. There will be plenty of picknic tables, with barbies for the non-vegans, tall maple trees for shade, porta-potties, of course, and changing tents for the swimmers. There will be no electricity, and no wireless access, of course. I may invite the Equality riders, of course, but I'll need some advice on that.

O.K., Who's next? :D :rainbow:  :cookie: :cookie:

I'll need someone to video the whole thing, and maybe we can call it "The Gay Agenda"

Peace and Love, Bruce Chris

We'll need places to sit and eat - for those that are too old to spend much time on the ground, or those who would really like to be able to walk again after the picnic.

I could build the tables and benches, and even some very low tables so people could be "gathered around the table" while sitting on blankets. Of course, these would only be built from reclaimed and recycled wood.

I think I would build a special table for the E-Riders - one that allows them to circle everyone else attending, just like they've encircled everyone in their love and courage. Since those bus seats would have become inseparable parts of their rear-ends by the end of the Ride, we wouldn't need benches for them.

But if we could arrange regional picnics - all at the same time on the same day - we could gather in community, both real and virtual.

Yes, good point... but even regional would be nearly impossible... I mean, here in my area at least... there aren't any regular forum people... I could probably Jeanneane Hill to come... but that'd be about it (at least that I know of)

I'm not the only one in PA, but I think I"m about the only one in the western part of the state.
I did see a guest on here yesterday who's IP address was from the same company mine is from. I did a search and found out that the "guest" was in the town next to mine.

I mean, maybe not to the West Coast, mind you, but I for one would be willing to travel a few hours if it meant meeting some of you for a day of fun and frolick. I mean, I am two hours from NYC and Phillie, only four or five from Washington, DC...... I don't know, some travel never hindered me from going somewhere important and fun..... seriously, could we maybe put something together for this summer? And I love Andrew's idea of all on the same day, to be together in communal spirit. Jen, do you know how to make fruit salad? The Wiggles sing a song about it if you need ideas about the ingredients. Or potato salad? Or the beverages?

Well, Phooeey on ya! Ya mean you DON'T wanna commute 2000 miles to come out here for lunch? Tsk tsk. :p

I make an awesome avocado-kiwi salad, which also has lettuce, celery, and cukes. It's cool, green, slightly sweet, with just a suggestion of tang in the vinaigrette. Posted the recipe once. :D

Let's see, guacamole and pasta salad are taken, so perhaps I'll make some homemade salsa, or a beautiful fresh veggie tray. And, I'll bring my horse in case anyone wants some pony rides - of course, he may bless us with some road apples, we'll have to keep him away from the food area! :cowboy:

Doncha just loves those ants, they even have their own Union, God bless 'em! :D ;) :rainbow:

i'll bring the Chai:D .

(for those of you who don't what real chai is, it is indian black tea made with milk, ginger, sugar and cardamom.) For so many, I would need at least 20 galleons. It is very refreshing even on hot days.

totally what I wanted! Way to go Uncle Andy. I think if we planned something for like August, we could all get together for like two or three days at a camp ground or hotel or something somewhere convenient we could all do it. Somewhere plane flights are cheap. I think we should do it. We could even get speakers and stuff...

Oh, I forgot. The smell of pigs is pretty heavy in the air in August. Most central would appear to be St Louis or Kansas City. Of course, most central from a flight point of view might be different.

Well, Austin, I'm game if we can muster some support and figure out the details. I's not like we don't have time, eh? Oh, yeah, I'm speaking for myself there, aren't I?

The sister organization to the GLBT Picnic Ants Union ... the GLBT Picnic Flies Union ... has informed me that they would be especially interested in the "road apples" ... so if Tdogg can bring the horse, that would be very much appreciated ... : )

While I think it would be awesome to have a forum get-together, I'm not entirely sure how likely I'd be able to attend. That said...the "gay agenda" video TOTALLY needs to get made, no matter what. :)
I just love that image of the gay agenda being a bunch of friendly folks hanging around, eating, talking, and playing like volleyball or something.

Oh, and I make some decent cannoli (and killer fudge, though that's more of a melt-risk). Could probably manage some other yummies, but I'm still teaching myself to cook and such.
