Hello everyone,

I just discovered Soulforce yesterday and am very interested in being a part of this. I especially appreciated the stuff about Catholocism. Thanks Pablo.

I'm UCC (United Church of Christ) on Sunday mornings and the rest of the week I'm a Roman Catholic. I teach high school theology in an all boy RC college prep in Dallas, TX.

I've worked in Church ministry or non-profit and community organizing all my life. I've a Masters in Spirituality. And an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Religious Studies with a double emphasis in Youth Ministry and Sacred Music. I've coordinated Religious Education and Youth Ministry programs; run a Wholistic Health Center out of a Lutheran church and run a RC non-profit that promotes volunteer ministries. I supplemented my income for years as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Nursing Homes.

I love animals - I've two miniature schnauzers right now. (Love cats too) I like to sing, play guitar and a little piano. I love Fantasy and Science Fiction - and mysteries - both novels and films.

I've prayed with nearly every Christian denomination and quite a few non-Christian relgions as well: Buddhist, Hindu, Bahai, Islam, Sikh, Jewish, Native American, African, and European (a.k.a. Wicca - my friends call me a Christa-Witch because I've studied and practiced Wicca), Zoroastrianism. I love sharing faith with others. I learn so much and grow closer to the god of my understanding. Oh yeah, I'm a 12 Stepper/Friend of Bill W. too.

Please write, I can't wait to get to know you.

Welcome Julie. You sound fun. :) Is one of the schnauzers named Jedi?

There are lots of folks here into performing music. I sing.

I have tried most of the Christian religions, too, at one time or another. And I settled on a very special UCC church, about half of whose memners are recovering Catholics. See below.

And I am an amateur student of religion and theology. Nothing in school, but I read a LOT. So I call myself an amateur theologist. A lot of Feminist theology.

You put a LOT in your intro post, 'way more than most people. From what you say about your background, you will soon be a valuable contributor, if you stick around and post. I wish you the best, come on in, and meet the people.

Peace and Love, Bruce Chris

Jedi was another schnauzer I lost 10 months ago. He was 11 1/2 and I'd raised him from a puppy. His original name was Jedidiah but that was too long. My mom suggested changing it to Jedi which suits me just fine, being a fan of Star Wars and all...

Thanks for the welcome y'all. I've been reading posts all afternoon. I feel I could get lost in here.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better.

Julie Anne

Sorry to hear of the recent loss of your puppy. :(

Are you aquaunted with Marion Zimmer Bradley, Ann McCaffery, or Mercedes Lackey? Can you tell us a little about the Cathedral of Hope?

And Zerbie, you say "Yoda have I always wanted to be" I guess I have to assume that that's because Yoda is taller, and better looking? -

Peace and Love, Bruce Chris

I absolutely adore Marion Zimmer Bradley & Anne McCafrey. The Mists of Avalon was one of my favorite books & the Dragonriders df Pern has been one of my favorite series. Especially since The Harper hall holds the sacred truths and history in their songs. I would love to "impress" - permanently bond with my Own dragon.

Have any of you read any of Starhawk's writings?
