» Thom says: ☛ Can we, with the permission of this group, discuss a subject that, well, I am finding difficult discussing elsewhere? I am studying to be SatyaGrahi (one who grasps for the truth/soul, such as it is). I am also studying to be Hoodoo (practitioner of African influenced folk magic). The difficulty is in finding a group that understands both Magic and SatyaGraha, and so can address both subjects. I know there are some here that do, so I hope to get some satisfaction here.

Hoodoo is not inherently violent, but can be used as a weapon. (My experience tells me Magic cares as much for our child as she does the lion who is eating him.) I feel the SatyaGrahi ethic should govern every other ethic. While there are variations on the primary ethic, the SatyaGrahi seeks to make changes in societies and lives without Violence in thought, word, or deed.

It is a general consideration that the ethics on using magic would be like any other ethic. The usual question is, “If I were in a situation that required aggressive action, what would I do without magic? Then I can do that with Magic.” My question here, for any thinking in the same line of ethic, what are your thoughts on the subject, and have you done any tricks, and have they been successful.

If this thread gets fair feed back, I may also post some of my formulas, in the hope that it could help others in the same sort of community (Pagan, Hoodoo, etc.).

As always, I look forward to this discussion.

PS: for reference, I functionally define Magic (SoulForce Energy, Cosmic iMagination) as an intelligent force of nature that interacts between intelligent … events.
