Since people who view my postings know generally nothing about me. I will post a few things and what I'm interested in.. I've been writing on different subjects for quite some time, notably spirituality , the environment and civil rights ,and political and actually have subscribed to other forums, like on Civil rights for African Americans and even belong to one of their forums... I'm white, but I consider myself beyond that .So I'm black too, Mexican too, Indian too, Buddhist too, Christian too... and the list will go on....There's a part of me that identfies with a larger humanity...So I am not white by definition, lol
I also have other interests, I have a passion for music and I have a eclectic tastes for music from Beethoven , to Bette Middler, Barbra Striesand, Stevie Wonder, Jewel ,Sarah Maclaughlin, Collective Soul , Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, the Beatles, Counting Crows,Heart, Dan Fogelberg,Lenny Kravitz,Burt Bacharach, Craig Chiquico (Jazz) U2, Sting,Martina, alternative rock, alternative jazz, folk, blues, country but I also like music from other cultures as well. Not much on opera.

I also enjoy other things.. Reading, art, history, pet's, poetry, some philospohy. But I like to explore new things, even if they seem off beat.. I like humor and even off beat humor...

I like different foods, but prefer greek, indian, persian, italian, japanese, and southern....but no liver pate for me please...and I won't eat escargot... lol

When I was younger I used to enjoy plays, and would go to the college where I was living and see some... On a limited budget so can't do that much now... Did like the movie Phantom of the Opera though, others I've liked were Lord of Wars, the Geisha among others but I also liked Shrek, and Star Wars and Madagasscar, and Star Trek, the Da Vinci Code was intersting , I also like Suspense, and comedy...

I play the guitar, play some classical and basically diddle with my own sound..

I'm not much of a drinker but like sweeter wines that are more fruity, wine coolers, lighter beer, I cannot alot of drink hard liquor though..But I used to like apricot brandy and sour vodkas... Mai Tais..

I also tend to stay away from overcrowded places, not much of a mall shopper and like quieter restaurants and even though I live in a larger city actually prefer smaller places... mid -sized cities or towns...

I like simple jewelry but I don't wear much..... Peter Stone's website and other sterling silver outlets , I've bought from. I don't care much for expensive jewelry, I'm a cheapskate.

I tend to like solitude and do not like large crowds...so I have no problem with spending time alone by myself...

I love animals but don't own one now..

I am also a parent with a son... I've also lived in another culture and in Alaska and other parts of the US. I interact with people of other cultures and have friends from other cultures including Britain and Iran.

I don't know what else to post here , so that's;\ about it...

ladyinred,

Great profile.

I'm with you on escargot. I aint eating anything that slithers or leaves a trail of slime. But I love liver. Liver is very healthy and is loaded with vitamins.

So you like suspense movies? You should rent "The Lost Room". Actually it's a mini-series but it has had me glued to the tv screen for the past few nights. It's out on DVD at Blockbuster.

you can never go wrong with a cat, just put out fod water and a litter pan and they pretty much take care of themselves and always ready for attention, of coarse the down sided are cleaning the litter pan and shedding, the smell and the scracthing of funiture, just make sure you have a good scratching post and all will be fine. I recomend adopting one, especially one that has already been fixed. check out your local humane society for a pet that needs a good home.

In my own family we had dogs and not cats, my mother did not like them for some reason, but my brothers have cats..The more I've been exposed to cats, the more I like them. They have their own personalities for sure..

One of my friend's cat used to climb on top of the recliner and lick my head, and they had another I fondly nicked Scat cat. (liked to run out the door of their RV and ran into the forrests to scout things out.)They had a dog who was a mut but the cats and the dog hung out together, played together and would even sleep and lay around together ( The cats on each side and Baby in the middle) I have pictures I took of them. They meowed at me alot as if to say , we are hungry, or we want to go out...( I would feed the cats snacks)

The only real negative experience I had was, with another friend's cat who was antisocial.. I just stayed away from it.
Her other cat was a cutie and much friendlier. It liked to jump in my lap and purred alot.
