Friends --

You may have read the following disturbing post in another thread recently:

And I guess I will have to tell you. choke, sob. My parents say we have to stop seeing each other. They were all smiles and joy about the romance until I brought up the ugly truth about things. They are old-fashioned and conservative; they just can't handle it. They won't let me go out with an Episcopalian! Don't cry please, I just couldn't handle it at the moment.

Comrades, Sisters and, er, Sisters, our beautiful Pablo is being held in an emotional prison, a web of guilt and centuries-old religious intolerance as strong as any steel bars!

Won't you join me in petitioning Mr. & Mrs. Pablo's-Parents to reconsider and free Pablo to finally pursue happiness avec moi?

The pen is mightier than the apron string!

:whistleblower:

I'm a Presbyterian !!! why should they listen to me???

Because you can spell it - that immediately gives you an incredible amount of respect and influence. And I won't tell them that you copy t from your letterhead - that's just between you and me.

And, dear Mr & Mrs Pablo's-Parents, there is quite a line forming for your son's affections. Trust me, I've seen some of these others - you could do a hell of a lot worse than an Episcopalian - me, for instance. Now, there's a call to reality, eh?

Now, I would also suggest that you don't judge our dear David by his pathetic, insipid, desperate attempt to garner your release of your son's intimate attention - it just that he's in some ways pathetic, insipid and desperate. Go figure, huh? With his looks he should be on top of the love ladder - just can't judge a book by its cover, or the sweetness of a fruit by its color.

And what else has been going on that I don't know about?
Hey, what was that? Alright where did that spitwad come from!
(Some people you just have to keep your eye on all the time.)

And you all just don't understand. I'm too young to make a major break from my parents. You just have to give me some time. You shouldn't rush people. (And it's not just a little thing, you understand, we're talking about Episcopalians here!) ;)

DANG!! He IS pretty! What does he see in an old loser like Pablo? He should be after me!

Hey, you just keep your paws off!

And who are you calling a loser!
"Losers" are pathetic, single, middle-aged men who have no social skills and no friends so they sit around in lonely apartments staring at the computer and converse with people online whom they have never actually met.
"Losers" are people who never post pictures of themselves so they hope people imagine them as much more handsome than they really are.
"Losers" are people who...

Pablo is my friend! stop saying bad things about him! he may be an old loser but he's OUR old loser and you better be nice to him! OR ELSE!

I'm glad someone is coming to my defense.
Thank you, Dave

I heard that Pablo is a beefy bearcub with a hairy chest; he shaves his head and has a go-t.......but I've never seen any pics to prove it.

Steve,
Hmm.. Though the answers are highly subjective, I will be lenient and give you two and a half out of four. A passing grade at least. (Change it to "super-sexy beefy bearcub" and I'll add another 10%)

Vacillating between shaken and stirred

David, you are way ahead of most people.
Most people are shaken NOT stirred when they meet me.
(Actually, almost everbody.)

Now everybody, STOP POSTING STUFF HERE, people will think we are a bunch of idiots. Austin already has warned people about the "older guys'" sense of humor being kind of scary. (I heard on the radio that the average age in the United States is 43, so Steve, you're in the older group now, and David sweetie, if you really are 40 as you say, you're getting dangerously close to being one of the "older guys".)

[My carbon 14 test results are being processed as I type.]

Don't you worry about Austin; this is a very good education for him. And there, but for the grace of the Fountain of Youth, will go he...one day...if he's lucky.

My Gay Auntie (the one who told me to moisturize in my mid-20s) used to joke that he had enrolled me in the World-Famous Faggotry School of Westport, Connecticut. The curriculum included memorizing The Women and All About Eve, trips to P-town and Fire Island, dressing up, grooming tips, cocktails, a little thing I like to call Tales from the 70s, and other assorted bon mots (not included in two aforementioned movies).

Being an old poop is a muy, muy importante job!

I love the sense of humor here!

Well Pablo if it makes you feel any better

I can assure your current situation will

only get better, just give it some time!

My advice to you is to just be firm in

whatever you feel right to you at this

moment! and if later you think it was a

mistake or you could have done it better

or another way, then just make the

necessary actions that feels right for

you to do!

Sweety in order for you to really be at

peace with your feelings or at ease with

your sexual identity it is expected that you

go through different faces of trials and errors

before you really know for sure what is that

makes you happy! and I can assure you

once your parents see you are happy with

the one you choose to love they will

eventually accept you for what you are!

because in essence all our parents want is

for their child to be happy and at peace

with themselves!!

Abrazos!,

Tu (somewhat shaken up) Amigo, Pablo

Don't you come out until you are good and ready, Pablo. Coming out is scary when you believe your parents may cut you off completely. However, when you have had enough of the loneliness and fear of the closet, coming out is the most freeing thing in the world! When you're ready maybe consider writing a letter to them. It may be easier at first. Then you can answer their questions later when they are ready to talk.

Oh darn! I moved this thread to the top again. ;)

oh, and Andy, cut the "Stevie" crap or I'm looking you up as you travel east!

Death and mismemberment, I'm guessing, StevE. Okay, I can take a hint - subtle as it may be. You don't have to threaten me, StevE. Have you noticed that has been happening a good bit lately. First Pablo, now StevE - insinuations of violence seem to be contagious.

So, anyway, StevE, exactly where would be the best place for you to look me up when I travel east? I-70 seems like a good choice to get from central Ohio (our temporary stop) to points east, and it seems it might go pretty close to your neck of the woods. Just how close it that, and just how pissed off do I have to get you to make that happen?

I seem to lining up a few possible altercations - ummm, I mean meetings - on I-70. Interesting.

Oh yes, StevE, will we need seconds?

Oh my God, you guys.

You should warn a girl not to read this whole thread all in one sitting. I can't breathe! And I think the neighbors are wondering what all this howling laughter is...

Ooohhhhh, my sides hurt...

(Also! Someone mentioned Westport CT at some point!? I used to live there! *waves!*)

I meant this is in no way a ploy meant to put the thread to SIX pages.

This is why I'm going to be teaching ENGLISH, not math!

I-70? within 12 miles of my house. Exit 57 (57 miles from the WV line) is New Stanton, and that is where I-70 connects with the PA turnpike. 15 minute drive and one can of whoop-a$$

At my house we have an annual Thanksgiving tradition....after dinner we always watch "It's a Wonderful Life".....marks the start of Advent! Stewart made a lot of films, but that's my favorite!

By "them" to whom or what are you referring, young man. Yes, I can read it between the lines, you insipid little upstart. You think we're all old farts, don't you? You're sitting there holier and younger than some of the rest of us, thinking snobbishly to yourself, "Old Geezers. OH my God, I hope I never turn into one of THEM." Well, see where your fear gets you - hahahahah, you're now one of us.

Ooh, just like in the movie "Freaks" - he's one of us, he's one of us - say it with me - he's one of us, he's ...

What? Oh, my medicine - that's nice. A bath - oh, yes, I'd like that.

(Don't think this is over yet, whippersnapper. I'll sic Pablo on you - he's been working out, you know? Yes, he's in the next room. I thinks he must be having his enema right now - I can hear him squealing like a little girl.)

What's that, nurse? Enema? Yes, I've had ... I mean, no I haven't. Not today. (Giggle. Giggle.) Wait a minute! What the hell do you mean StevE is going to do it?

I promised retribution for the poster who went to page six. I'm on my way out to Pennsylvania in a matter of moments. I have directions: I-70 to exit #... uh, excuse me just a sec.

No, mom, he's not the big guy. He's a little short guy. A teacher. A MUSIC teacher at that. It's not going to be a problem.

Sorry for the interruption. I'll be out and we can settle some old scores. Did I mention I have really been lifting the weights. (They have good fitness equipment here at the home.) You're going to be sorry, short guy!

David, do you really think all those signatures will work? I can come down to Florida after I stop off in western Pennsylvania. You know my parents love you, its just that Episcopalian thing. And, remember, if you think you can just sneak by on I-70, I'll be travelling on that road. So, if StevE kicks anyone's a$$, it's mine - kapish.

As for you, StevE, you just don't seem to be too picky about who's a$$ you stick you foot into, do you? Damn weight-lifters, you're all the same. Threaten a guy and then two-time by going to look for someone wimpier to threaten (no offense, Pablo - but really, dude).

And, David, what the hell is wrong here? What - you can't even keep Pablo busy long enough for StevE to kick my a$$. Get creative, for goodness sake.

And, the rest of you, what the hell are you looking at?

This thread has definitely drifted far from its original mission - to deliver Pablo from his emotional prison and enable him to pursue true love. Here's a reminder:

Friends --

You may have read the following disturbing post in another thread recently:

Comrades, Sisters and, er, Sisters, our beautiful Pablo is being held in an emotional prison, a web of guilt and centuries-old religious intolerance as strong as any steel bars!

Won't you join me in petitioning Mr. & Mrs. Pablo's-Parents to reconsider and free Pablo to finally pursue happiness avec moi?

The pen is mightier than the apron string!

:whistleblower:

Therefore, let us put forward the petition that our David has mentioned. Abandon this distracting quest of manly assault along I-70, and return to the original romantic pursuit!!!

Besides, if i flip this over to page 7, perhaps our dear :poke: Pablo's wrath will fall on me. I live a hell of alot closer to him than any of you. Those apron strings will probably reach this far!

... my goal was get as many people pissed off as possible, so we can meet up on I-70, make up and have a party. But, then, Jenna told me I look silly in make-up, anyway.

The other goal, of course, was to help get this thread to page 7. Knowing this was a shared goal, I would like to point out that even people who are committed to engaging in mayhem can work together for the good of cause. Having forgotten what that cause was exactly, or even remotely, Scott's reminder was appropo.

So the one goal is to get to page 8, while doing whatever we can to bring Pablo the freedom he needs to luxuriate in the arms of his unrequited love, David. And meet up on I-70.

So the two goals we have are to get David and Pablo together and meet up on I-70 - oh, and to make up.

So the three goals we have are to get David in Pablo's pants, get together on I-70 and make up - and, oh yes, to party.

So the four goals we ... Oh, screw it.

David - come on, bud - you're a good looking guy - do you really have to chase down such a damn momma's boy to get your jollies? Meet up with us on I-70 and, if nothing else, someone will get drunk enough to make up with you, okay?

Playing hard to get sometimes backfires, don't you know. So now, besides being a playground for Jenn and Austin (which I kind of enjoyed), maybe there's someone else who can voice their unrequited love for Pablo - preferably a dastardly protestant, so Pablo can continue to hide behind his parents disdain.

Oh come on! Let's get honest, shall we? Lay down, Pablo. Tell us why you seem to have such difficulty committing to someone. We're listening - we care - really we do.

People posting videos (some of cute guys) that I can't download on my super-slow dial up connection.
Tennagers taking over the thread about me.
My beautiful, charming, gay, architect boyfriend going off with someone else.

before I turn this thread over to the teenagers. (Let's see if THEY can conduct this thread with the dignity, sophistication and class that we more (ahem) mature individuals have.)

First everyone was amused that I was "dumped" on a public forum. Not even dumped. I found out about it from a second party, a teenager at that. (A moment of uncontrolled sobbing.) Then there is the token pity. NOW you will all try to set me up with someone else. DON'T DO IT! I don't want any matchmaking. And forgive me for being blunt (When I stop taking my medication I am prone to wild mood swings and irrational behvior.) but the rest of you are bottom-of-the-barrel, now that my beloved David is taken and Dash is unavaliable. For example:

SCOTT - TOO DEMANDING OF ATTENTION (Something I never do.)
Dave - too tall (I like looking down on people.)
Andy - too straight
Daniel - too married
Brian - to annoying
Jennifer - too female
Austin - too cocky
Megan _ see "Jennifer"
Steve - too bossy

I don't mean to be rude, but I thought things just needed to be said.

Personally, I think they lack the maturity to truly acts as dolts in a public forum. I'm sorry, that should have been "...lack the dementia..."

First everyone was amused that I was "dumped" on a public forum. Not even dumped. I found out about it from a second party, a teenager at that. (A moment of uncontrolled sobbing.)
Since this is a moment of such abject sorrow for you - not to mention one showing an insatiable need for attention and affirmation - I would ordinarily avoid correcting you publicly. However, since you are a teacher, I thought it would be unkind to not point out that you found out about this from a THIRD party. Let's hope you don't teach anything that involves numbers or counting, eh.

Then there is the token pity. Too tall, too straight, too married, too female - is there any deeply held social bias that you didn't vent here, Pablo?

And as far as beng too straight, I'll have you know that I share some traits with Bill Clinton and that my pe... (What's that, honey. You don't think he was talking about that. What else could he have been talking about? Oh, orientation. Well, that's embarrassing. No, I don't know how to edit. I'll just claim that StevE changed my post. Yeah, that'll work.)

I think, everyone, that this is a covert cry for help and intervention from our dear Pablo. We should all pity and look down on him as someone who needs the benefit of our magnaminity, selfless tolerance and, above all else, our superior counting skills.

But, because this is such a poorly disguised call for help, we need to consider putting Pablo on a SUICIDE WATCH. I would take the first turn, but I just noticed my nails need trimming. Hopefully, someone will come along soon and keep an eye on him.

Dave is only an inch taller then you, making him 6' 4", which wouldn't be to tall for you, although if I recall, he does have a wife and kids at home.

Austin... too young... that's the problem there.

From the BBC website:

A group of stressed-out people in Spain have been given a chance to let off steam by demolishing a hotel in Madrid.

High school teacher Pablo, another participant, said he really enjoyed letting off steam.

"I don't need to smash my classroom now, not anymore - I'm already relaxed," Pablo was quoted as saying by Reuters news agency.

Have we driven you this far - lierally and figuratively - Pablo, that you have to smash up things to feel better?

Santa Fe was lovely - we didn't go out to eat, but instead had a very tasty meal outside on the lovely portal of some friends. Charming garden surrounding us, pleasant breezes, good wine, conversation, etc. :) Oh, and illegal fireworks occasionally bursting in the nearby skies. BTW. i wasn't the center of attention - that was my other half, who is quite the storyteller.

i've never actually been to Chimayo, though one of my good friends grew up there & invited us to walk the Good Friday pilgrimage with him this past Easter. We ended up bowing out upon discovering that thousands of people crowd into little Chimayo - - i've got a phobia about large crowds.

Yummy - sopapillas!!!! El Paragua in Espanola is really good, too. As is Gabriels, on the road between Santa Fe & Espanola. Their guacamole (made to order by the waiter at your table), calavacitas, and refried beans are amazing!!! :cookie: :cookie: The abundance of fabulous New Mexican restaurants here have really spoiled me. Mmmmmm.

Perhaps i can convince our dear, heart-broken Pablo to take a drive down our way for a meal sometime at a nice restaurant. Green chile chicken enchiladas might not offset a longing for the company of lovely David, but maybe a nice flan would ease the ache??? Certainly a margarita couldn't hurt?

Why didn't I even get considered on Pablo's list?? :hissy: Waahaa! (Not like I'm not utterly taken, too, amongst other incompatibilities, but at least one might have been mentioned. . .)

And oh my dear, 80 degrees is not hot, that is blissfully cool. Yes 107 is bad. But Scott, I'll see your 107 and raise you to 115. (We got back in town late last night, and it was 97 degrees in the house with the AC on - took hours to get it down to 80.)

But if you could.. the cost of the locked fence is worth it to have the pool.. Soooo nice to have that right there... but it is a lot to take care of!

Actually, we have walls. "Privacy walls" are fairly ubiquitous in Arizona. Even with cement bricks 5ft high on all sides of the yards and locked gates, I've seen children darting through our backyard when toys have flown over the wall - the neighbors in back have a trampoline, maybe that gives them height to get up over the wall. Who knows?

Anyway, we figured we wouldn't use the pool enough to justify all the fuss and the possible risks.

That makes sense.... sad... but incredibly reasonable!

I know I said a few posts ago that I had just one last thing to say.
Well, I really mean it this time.

It seems that we have two parallel conversations going on here. The men's group and the women's group. (Just like family gatherings) I will just say to Zerbie that I had considered putting you in my list, but I couldn't think of anything because you are always so unendingly nice and polite. (I pick on the more rowdy group.)

Now to get to the men's conversation: Scott and Dave, you are getting closer to home with every conversation. If you want a really pretty drive take the "High Road to Taos" from north of Santa Fe. It goes through Chimayo (well worth the stop, I agree. And pick up some of that "holy" dirt.) through Truchas and on to Taos. It is slow and twisty, but the best of northern New Mexico.

And all this talk about food is getting to me. Coming from California I have eaten a lot of Mexican food, I have to say that northern New Mexico Mexican food is by far the best, better than anywhere in the country. Dave, I have got to tell you that just talking about sopapillas is starting to put back on some of those 50 pounds you lost.

And BruceChris, I will have you know that we are on page 11!. A "waste" indeed. Are all our thoughts, dreams and visions a waste? Are our conversation and our lives a waste? Are the great topics and issues of our day a WASTE?! (tone turning from indignant to embaressingly pathetic) And stop making fun of me. You know for some of us, this is just the best (sniff) we can (sniff) do.

Tu Amigo, Pablito

This Mexican food talk is really unfair. People around here think Taco Bell is Mexican food. The closest decent Mexican restaurant is like an hour away.

Pepito's is the best Mexican food in Dayton. Their enchiladas are really great. Taco Bell food makes me run for something other than the border if you know what I mean. :running: I just can't take it.

Thank you Jennifer,

There may be hope for your generation yet.

Uh, now that I'm here. I realize I don't have anything to say. I should have kept my mouth shut. (I'm a slow learner.)

A picture of me? Every time I try that, our beloved moderator changes it to something really stupid looking. I guess it's just envy. People are intimidated by my stunning good looks and bulging muscles. I make all the other guys here look like losers.
Except for Brent, he's kind of hot!!

I remember we were supposed to post a picture of a sheep, or was it a goat? No matter I have one with both.

Tu Amigo, Pablo

I know, I know. I'm a pain in the butt. When I get too annoying just tell me to shut up. :D

He's just trying to keep this thread alive so he can get a sympathy f... Well, perhaps I shouldn't go there. Hmmm - the 800th post must be cheap and tawdry, eh. Perhaps the 1000th will be a little higher class.

The only pity is that my 800th post didn't bump this exquisite example of relentless, run-on B.S. to page 12.

It is a function of logarithmically prognosticating the potential probabilities in a purely random, chaotic - perhaps even maniacal - matrix.

Or a slightly easier way is:

If you are posting right after a post that is a multiple of 20 (20, 40, 60...), then you will be post #21, 41, 61, etc, which will start a new page.

I am WELL AWARE of that fact! Thanks for bringing up such a unpleasant subject. While you're at it, how about slamming my fingers in the car door! I (sniff) though that playing hard-to-get would work to my advantage.

And Brent, I am waiting anxiously to see how your encounter with Dash works out. Don't let the guy's sweet face and angelic voice fool you, he KNOWS how to use those boots. I hope you encounter is an exciting adventure. HaHa! (I'm still upset over the quick, sarcastic response you gave to the pass I made at you.)

Although I have to give Brent some credit. Most of the time, when I make a pass at someone, it ends up with a trip to the sheriff's office and ANOTHER restraining order.

I was a counselor, right? And we have family groups, where a "mom" and a "dad" counselor take on a group of ten kids and do stuff with them for a week. Well, the mom of my family group, a 26 year old women who is getting married in october to a 28 year old man and I got along splendidly. In fact, the campers thought that the two of us, the female and me, were hooking up after camp fire.

I laughed so hard when one of my campers asked me if I was dating here...

All of the boys in my cabin btw, thought I was straight, and the other counselor was gay. Pity, they were dead wrong!

I finally got around to reading this thread. I must admit at first I was very confused. My first confusion came with the initial post...I thought to myself..."Pablo has parents?" Then remembering another thread...I thought I had the answer. This must be one of those threads that people use to pad their posts. Wrong again! Then I began seeing zoo animals and talk of a heavy weight competition...at this point I was really confused. Of course it does not take much. Then there was talk of picture swapping. I was beginning to really wonder what I had gotten myself into...reading this very long thread. However, I finally figured it out. This is Soulforce's rendition of Where's Waldo...but instead it is Where's Pablo?
