Hello, my user name is vytiense. My name in real life is Dale. I am a retired teacher, living in Lenoir, North Carolina. For 27 years I was a choral director in the public schools. I have also done choral work with an opera company and in churches. I am thrilled to be a member of Soulforce. I have been reading about the equality ride, but had no idea of the sponsoring group.

I have often wondered if the principles of Ghandi and Dr. King could not be applied to the movement, and now I see that Dr. White and others have done this. Having read STRANGER AT THE GATE, I have utmost respect for Mel White and his work. I am grateful for this opportunity for service, and hope that I may be of some benefit to the group.

I directed a second- and third-grade church choir once...for a semester...and it was more than sufficient to give me the utmost respect for music educators of all stripes! :)

So, did you sing in the opera chorus? Or were you the chorus master who prepped the opera chorus?

I waited my entire life for someone in the gay movement to figure out to base it on Gandhi/King. Good for Mel! And hooray for Soulforce! Found out about SF 2 years ago, wished I had known about it from the beginning. I'm excited about SF too.

So, retired at only 55? How are you spending your days?

Glad to meet you. You're just down the road from me. I'm in Winston-Salem. I dated a man from Lenior about ten years ago.
