"The Queer Texas Conference is an action-oriented, 3 day-long educational gathering of youth and students from across Texas to build community and improve the organizational capacity of our movement. The conference will open with the Texas Networking Reception on Friday evening, followed by the Action Summit on Saturday, and a Youth Leadership Summit on Sunday. Action summit sessions will include skills training and dialogues on social identities and intersecting oppressions. As part of a broader social justice movement, we work to create a nation that respects the diversity of human expression and identity and creates opportunity for all."
Don't miss out on this awesome conference this weekend! I will be there "LIVE" and in person, presenting a workshop entitled "Reclaiming Faith: Reconciling Spirituality, Sexuality & Gender."
The info about my presentation:
Reclaiming Faith: Reconciling Spirituality, Sexuality & Gender
As LGBTQ young adults, many of us have heard churches, family members, friends, and public leaders use religious texts to condemn LGBTQ people. "Reclaming Faith" will examine the sources of faith-based bigotry and present a clear and concise response that will reveal the truth and the support we really have in our spiritual texts and histories. This workshop will be meaningful to everyone, whether you are Atheist, Agnostic, Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, etc. You will leave this presentation with 1) A foundational knowledge of how to respond to faith-based bigotry, 2) The awareness of many LBGTQ faith leaders, 3) The freedom to consider the faith journey that inspires you and the power to "dismiss anything that offends your soul."
